Disco 4 (LR4) Does the Jaguar XF engine actually fit the Disco 4

As far as I remember, we stripped both engines down to the block. Blocks are exactly the same. We had to swap over every bolt on part. Bell housing is the same & I'm pretty certain the gearbox is the same as well. It took two unrushed days. There was no memorable problems at all.

P38A Odd things not matching with previous experience.

I see it all the time. The cars that are sold within the first 3 years are the worst. To this day, people buy a car just approaching it's first MOT. 100,000 miles can easily be removed to bring the mileage down to 13 or 14k. & no one will ever find out. It probably happens more now than...

    Changing ecu

What are you talking about? I've never had that problem in 15 years & never ever received a complaint or negative feedback mentioning injector codes ever. & trust me, I do a damned lot more than what you do. But then I notice you use hawkeye as a diagnostic system. The nanocom is better. Get...

P38A Odd things not matching with previous experience.

I was going to mention the mileage, as anything that low needs investigating. But there's no way to tell with diagnostics. Through experiance, anything that low has a high chance of being in an accident & has been sitting for a number of years before being put back on the road. But we won't...

P38A Odd things not matching with previous experience.

Everything you listed can be activated or deactivated within the becm settings, except the reversing mirror's. These need to be set by the buttons on the side of the drivers seat. At 13k miles, I can't see any faults festering on this vehicle. You just need to get the correct diagnostics to...

Disco 4 (LR4) Does the Jaguar XF engine actually fit the Disco 4

Yes. They fit. We've done it. You need to swap all the bits & bobs over. We had an issue with one of the turbo's if I remember correctly. The jag had one turbo & the D4 had two.

    Changing ecu

Plug your nanocom into the car & get it powered. Choose TD5, then security relearn. The option of "other" may come after TD5, but either way you get there, you need to acrtivate the security relearn. Turn ignition off for 15 secs, then you should be able to fire up. If the engine TD5 ecu...

Classic I need to reset timing for every start......

The dizzy's on these wasn't that great. You could try & source another dizzy & see if that make's a difference. I sold mine, a 4 door classic 3.5 efi, as I got fed up with the economy. It was the next owner that informed me the ECU was shot.

Classic I need to reset timing for every start......

I remember having to do this. It got to the point I was adjusting everyday. Had the distrubuter out so many times, regreased, & refitted. It turned out to be the Engine ECU failing. The miles per gallon also went down to approx 4 or 5 miles per gallon in the end.

P38A BECM not going to peeps. Anyone got a Faultmate or Nanocom?

The circuit is controlled by a logic gate & driver.

    Range rover l322 td6 2003

There's a adapter loom made for this. Not sure who makes it. Maybe someone else will know.

L322 Steering wheel motor running on and lowering to lowest point on key entry

That's so annoying when that happens. I've had it happen to me on many occasions & couldn't be bothered to fix it. The coloums mechanism is failing. As it only happens on entry, & once you raise it with the lever, it won't happen again until the following morning, it seem's.

two alternator fails in one week

A quick tip if this happens again with a new alternator. Give the back of the alternator a sharp tap. The components are new & cheap & after initial contact on the brushes, the springs stick or are held back by the connecting wire & don't apply the pressure to the slip ring. To answer in...

P38A BECM not going to peeps. Anyone got a Faultmate or Nanocom?

Believe it or not, The fuel flap is a known source of drain & keeping the Becm awake. Not sure how as the motor is just a solinoid.

P38A BECM not going to peeps. Anyone got a Faultmate or Nanocom?

I'll give you a little test to do. You need your tester & leads long enough to close the bonnet while leads are connected to tester. 0.53ma is at the second stage of sleep. When it drops to 0.01 to 0.05 the becm is asleep but monitoring. The becm will sleep when all parameters have been met...

Help needed! Range Rover vogue 2006 3.0D

Sometimes when the system is a little upset it throws an airbag light on, or restricts the air suspension. If you're lucky, just get some diagnostics plugged in & reset, & fingers crossed.

L322 Range rover vogue or Sport?

I've owned them all. 2 door Classics, 4 door classics, P38's, L322, Discovery 2 & 3. The sport i will not buy. It is indeed a Discovery 3 in a tight dress. I say a tight dress, you're huddled up inside just like the XJ Jags. The benefit of owning a Range Rover is the personal space inside...

Looking at buying this ex-SAS Range Rover...

If it was a true SAS vehicle it would have protection in all the doors, floor & roof. Glass would also be bullit proof. It sounds like it was just used for officail duties, like popping into macdonalds etc. If you're not sure, drive the thing. It won't drive like a range rover as you know it. It...

Disco 2 Nanocom Faults - Strange One

There's nothing wrong with your nanacom. That's the best bit of kit ever. But feel free to pay a main stealer for an hour of diagnostics where they use a system that's not a scratch on your nanocom. With those list of thoughts I'd take a keen look at your injector loom for oil ingress.
