Seems like a sensible idea! You're probably already aware of the facelift in 2011, which may or not be important to you. Also with the stop start equipped cars (and all face-lifted cars) came lower CO2 figures and cheaper VED.

Oh yes, the HSE might have Xenons as well, which are useful if you have to drive out in the sticks - and it looks like you probably do...

Yes, you're right, the eD4 is the FWD version. I felt exactly the same about the manual box on both of my first and second Freeloaders, but the third one was an auto and it suited the car better - especially if using it off road or towing where it is much easier to control and is more robust...

What would Land Rovers be with a little “character”? ;)

There’s one here in Cornwall :D The rest are with Americans and Oligarchs. The drug dealers tend to stick to the Sports ;)

Just the 44 days with its feet up!

Who says that they wait until they are out of warranty before they start to break?!
  9. Tigger Eeyore & Roo

    Other A ask...

Why do they need to be out of warranty? Besides, there are Fatty's from 2013,14 and shortly 2015 all out of warranty.

We are not alone... Besides, how can LR expect to sell any of them if there's no category on LandyZone?

It just occurred, the L405 was launched at the September 2012 Paris Motor Show. That's 6 years and 3 months ago. I hate to rush these things, but how about an L405 section chaps? :D

No offence taken there Dippypud :)

Hello and thanks GR :D Ben's his usual good self. He's just come back from making friends at the Cafe again AND he managed to scrounge his bit of bacon again  Amber's settled in, but there's no getting away from the fact that she's a demanding one! A good car traveler though and my...

    Advice please

https://www.kmotors.co.uk/vehicles/range-rover-l405/ I can only comment on the Brembo 6 pot fronts and standard rears on my own SDV8 over the 16 months and 39,000 miles that I've run mine from new. I'm fairly easy on my brakes, but the rear pads lasted for 32,000 miles and £240 to replace with...

Happy to do that, but I’ll do it when I’m back on a proper computer, rather than my phone in a cafe (The Chequered Flag near Liskeard, as it happens...)

    Hello Hippo! :D

    Advice please

The L405 and L494 are very different to travel in - try them both before you go ahead. The 405 will feel very like your RR of old, the 494 more like a cross between a full RR and a Golf.

    Advice please

Unfortunately, LandyZone hasn’t got into the 21st century with an L405 section yet; I believe it’s expected to be added around 2035AD :D Lots of information on fullfatrr.com, but it’s very different to LZ ;)
  19. Tigger Eeyore & Roo

    Advice please

Gosh, if only the “don’t leave showrooms with a fault” were the case in reality. There are several cases of near new LR’s being resold after having been taken back with unrepaired faults. One was a Freeloader 2 of mine and I know of 2 very recent L405’s with serious issues with their...

    D3 or D4?

I've owned 2 D4, traveling for around 65,000 miles between them and they were amongst the very best cars that I've ever owned. I'd still have one now if they hadn't stopped building them and that's the only reason that I've had to transfer to the nearest modern equivalent with the Fatty...
