I’ve owned two D4’s and both of them came with that tyre size, with the same brand and model of tyre. The problem is that your registration number will only tell the tyre company the sizes of rims that could have been specified on your car as options, not necessarily the exact ones that got...

Not a fault I’ve had yet in 42,500 miles. However, I’d echo that batteries that are starting to die do tend to come up with all sorts of electrical oddities and if your battery is the original

To avoid diff damage on a Freelander 2, make sure that tyres are of equal tread depth on the same “axle”. So, like you say, fit a new pair to the rear and keep the one decent one as a spare.
There are plenty of single rims that you can put it for sale on eBay.
Yes, it was the oil level sensor, where the wiring loom exits the motor. It’ll be on the ramp at the end of the week. I shall try and get a photo to post up.
