EAS - My tale of woe.

Martin I've just PM'd you : I should have read the forum first which would have given me a better idea of your problem ! I sympathise : I just got back down from Peterhead in similar weather and will be heading for sunny Stornoway ina week or two !! For your consolation....or not....I have...

    2.5 D Rear Propshaft

It must have been spin : it took the bottom and side covers off the gearbox : they were lying in the middle of the road.

    2.5 D Rear Propshaft

I'm doing my best ! There's not much I can say except it fell off !! there may well have been symptoms but if there were they were not so noticeable to be a cause of concern. I've mentioned the slight steering wheel tremble...even now I doubt if that was anything to do with it.

    2.5 D Rear Propshaft

I drive with sun roof open and window down a bit 'cos I'm a cigar smoker ! I think I would have heard any major rumbles. I AM getting on a bit and one ear not so good with the shooting but I don't think my hearing is a prob. I also had the prop greaded when I got the tyre replaced a couple of...

    2.5 D Rear Propshaft

I'm not aware of any warning : I was aware of a minor steering wheel tremble but I had just renewed one tyre and had the camber checked....thought it might have been that.

    2.5 D Rear Propshaft

Rear propshaft came off spectacularly yesterday on the road . Have ordered front and rear replacements from Emmotts + bolts. Any advice I need on re-fitting ? (Autobox sump took a thump in the process : replacing.):(

    Washer Pumps Replacement

Where are you in the Borders ? Just to let you know I've got a faultmate and Datatek's EAS software & cable.

    Washer Pumps Replacement

Been replacing the washer pumps : Rave recommends removal of reservoir involving removal of wheel arch liner etc etc. Decided to do it in situ. They just prise out with a screwdriver as somebody helpfully told me : pressing them back in is a real pain as it requires a hefty shove to click the...

    P38 Rear Washer Wont Work

Thanks guys : I'm doing a number of jobs ( including front air bags, water pump and thermostat) and just looking for all the shortcuts going. I can probably live with a wet armpit....might even be an improvement.

    P38 Rear Washer Wont Work

Hi '97 P38 DSERear screen washer has never worked : front has now stopped working ( just after I bought a new rear pump !) : about to replace both : can it be done without ytaking the reservoir out ? ( looks like it from what little I've read here so far.)

    Fuel tank pipe replacements?

It was the first job I ever did on my 97 2.5 DSE 4 yrs ago when I broke the connector at the fuel filter. I got it from a guy somewhere in Wales ( I will have the receipt somewhere but it could be time consuming to find it) : if there is no problem with your pipes there really is no need to...

do you wave?(their all miserable sods round here)

Having read the other contributions I suggest that we devise our own Landyzone salute and keep it secret....have a competition for the salute. ( We had one in a gun club I was in : one hand over the eye while pointing told those in the know that somebody was a ****er....)

    ABS Pressure Switch

There must be a number of guys on the forum who are back and fw from US and have addresses of friends in US. I'm over twice a year. Hypothetically speaking if a friend in the US sends you a birthday or Xmas gift it is not liable to duty.....I think. It's not as if we're speaking about vast...

    taking long to start

Had the same problem : in tank pump eventually packed in : I replaced it and problem continued. Replaced the spill/leak pipes....problem solved permanently. Using the floor access method pump is dead easy : leak pipes also.

    fuel system help

I'd be looking at your tank pump : mine died without warning on the motorway : symptoms sound like what you're getting and no priming from pump when AA tested. If it turns out to be the pump check out the threads for replacing : easier to cut an access hatch on boot floor than dropping the tank.

    Emmotts - What Service

Agree entirely : I got a duff ABS pressure switch : phoned them and said I had sourced another : I just asked them to credit me with the amount and I'd get it taken off something in the future. Nothing in writing at either end. I called them the best part of a year later and without discussion...

    Midlothian P38's

Hi In the past few weeks I just happen to have noticed that I have passed a number of P38's as I drive around Midlothian/Edinburgh /North Borders .Comfortingly I have also noticed an occasional cheery acknowledgement from the other car. Just wondered if any P38 owners from the area are on this...

    Coolant / Engine overheat advise?

Follow the advice given by Fanatic i.e. the recorded delivery letter calling up the guarantee. they have to get first crack at putting right any defect. If somebody else starts taking things apart it will be asserted that the original seller is no longer responsible for the fault. This course...
