Follow the advice. Get the cables and software from Datatek. I'm travelling Edinburgh to Aberdeen week after next.( Travel Monday return Friday.) If it can be arranged I'll be happy to show you the stuff. Its cheap and simple. You should not be without it.

Thanks Wammers : checked & they were OK. A full overnight charge on the battery seems to have done the trick. For my education , why are P38's so hard on batteries ( or is it sensitive to diminishing power in the battery ?)

Battery is only 3 months old !!

A couple of times when I just switch on ignition I get "Alternator Fault" message. Starts fine, message disappears, runs fine and no "book" fault appears. Haven't run Faultmate yet. Alternator replaced about 1k miles ago. Any comments/advice ? TAKdriver
