I replaced mine some years ago. Dropping the tank looked like a pain : I think I followed some advice on here and cut out a panel in the floor above the pump. Job was dead easy. Have a search for the thread .

I'm trying to get behind the plastic cover/panel in the drivers side footwell where the bonnet release catch is housed ( I think I have a bad earth in the leccies behind it) : I'm struggling to get the panel off and don't want to damage it by forcing it. Anybody had that off ? Advice ?

If you're talking about the plastic bit under the glass I cut a new one out of a plastic butter dish.....coulda been magarine but I can never tell the difference

I let my battery go flat and can't get my Faultmate to speak to the ecu. Nor does EAS Suite initialise. I'm assuming either a fuse or an earth on the OBD circuit but haven't got round to checking......too cold. Any suggestions welcomed

I got mine rebuilt for £450.

It cost me £450.00. I bought a 2nd hand one from a breaker and it had the same leak as got me a failed MOT. I then got the original refurbished at £450. I still have the replacement which I bought for £250.

It worked !!!! Thanks a bundle Wazz. I put the heavy duty charger on it, switched ignition to pos 2 and everything lit up. The first charger is still showing that its charging on a much lower amp battery. My P38 battery must have been run right down because I've just had it on the trickle...

Thanks Wazza. I have a spare battery beside the charger : I take the charger off the car and onto the spare......works perfectly on the spare. Just in case draw is too much I'll try another higher output charger.....as you say....elimination

The battery is only about a year old but still worth a check. Everything had been functioning fine of the couple of very short runs (+/- a mile) I gave it recently and battery had also been on occasional trickle charges without incident. This was a sudden and unexpected development.
