I fully intend to be there again. This time though with my own Landy, might have to bring the new toy along behind on the trailer though if I am allowed.

300TDI Manual - Spares or repair - Lampeter

Hi people I have come to the decision that it is time to sell on my stop gap car now that my auto car disco will be on the road within the next two weeks. Fitted with a front tubular winch bumper - no winch fitted. This car is now just sitting as I do not have the time to do the work it needs...

    TDI to V8 conversion

To be honest ive got a TDI for local runs and such but find it a touch gutless for heavy towing work. Economy wise I cant see an LPG V8 being much worse when towing 3 ton than 300TDI. Add to that the benefits in comfort and ease of driving the V8 auto seems a better option for long distance...

    TDI to V8 conversion

I'm currently working on a project to convert my 1998 Disco 1 auto to petrol v8 power. The reasoning is simple the TDI in it is knackered and I don't like diesels anyway. I'd be much happier with a petrol engine so far I can see 3 viable options 3.5 with carbs 3.9EFI or TVR V8, but somehow I...

    freelander wheel nut removal

How about contact the previous owner and ask if they still have the key? I did that when I couldn't find the one for my disco and she told me where in the car it was hidden

    Head gasket change.

Sorry for the delay been off the forum for a bit due to real life getting in the way. I'll get that how to done nice soon. As to the result all I found was a small amount of gas marking between number 3 and water jacket on the face of the head. No cracking and no warpage, the car is now...

Urgent: Badly overheated. I don't dare turn off.

Mine did that as well after I changed the rad and thermostat. Its probably simply that the engine is now running at the right temperature.

    This is all YOUR fault!!

Got it off a seller on ebay. Fitted to the car this morning along with a shiny new exhaust system, and over the next 3 days full polybushing. Fitting one of these alone is not that easy as its £"$£"$ heavy, especially when the mounting brackets need bending out 1/2 a mm to fit over the front of...

    This is all YOUR fault!!

It's only the recovery eyes that are a little disappointing. The quality of construction is fantastic, really beautiful welds. Thick plate and properly heavy

    anything to worry about.

That's a regular occurrence lol. Local kids think it's very funny to put washing up liquid in that fountain Definitely y disco. Covered in mud bumper held on with gaffer tape and string and all me tools and other bits and bobs still in it. Only thing different is that air freshner. I would...

Urgent: Badly overheated. I don't dare turn off.

Turn it off and leave it off. Leave the bonnet open to give it a chance to cool down. What may also help if you have a good battery is to put the ignition on and heater and heater fan to full. You'll get some, although very small, amount of thermo syphoning to circulate the coolant and help it...

    HiDeeHi & Sarah90 Birthday Wales Trip 21st & 22nd June 2014

That was one of the main reasons I didn't do it! My new bumper is yet to arrive and the old one isn't very well. In fact its held on with gaffer tape and bale twine. Amazingly it stayed put all day. I was almost certain i was going to lose it. The other reason I didn't is I have a fairly low...

Got some piccies for ya all. Hope you have fun today. Glad Scot's disco is working again now just got to fix mine. This was the first challenge of the day. Zip went first and needed a few attempts to get through. I was second and panicking. I'd seen zip struggle in a disco with much bigger...

    TD5 alternator needed in Aberystwith

Alternator got drowned with some luck it may start working again once dried out. I'd be tempted to take it off and put it in hotel room if you can. Even if you can't get it apart it may dry out enough to start working.
