Thanks but that shows the oil cooler as part of the oil filter housing, from memory his housing is just a block held on by , probably eight 8mm headed bolts.guess I'll have to pull it apart and see,he's got other cars so he won't be stuck. I'll post the answer to the question when I get it...

Thanks mate,it looks a different set up on his, from memory,they are all AJ8 based but could be AJ33s or AJ34s:rolleyes::D

Just to see if there's a gasket between the oilflter housing and the engine thanks.

Afternoon I wonder if anyone can help.After my success curing the oil leak on my P38 My friend has asked me if I can sort out his leak on his XJR 4.2SC .it appears to be from where the oil filter housing bolts to the engine,it then runs down and runs around the pressed steel part of the sump.I...

Had a look under the bonnet and it appears to be the top O ring on the filter cap so hopefully the oil and filter change will sort it.

Thanks Keith,and a thanks from the Boss I've locked the suspension in motorway mode, makes it so much easier for her to get in and out since I removed the side steps and she's vertically challenged.;):D

Check the sills and rear wheel arches for rot when you take the steps off.:eek:

Does it have an oil cooler built into the bottom of the rad Keith? Mines a manual and the gearbox oil cooler is built in.
