Yes and a weaker back diff. Could he not get the original diff fixed? Also could cause some issues when center difflock is engaged?

you can get some nice deals on 2nd hand lockers. I picked up a KAM locker in axle with stronger halfshafts aswell as discs and callipers for 400. I also now have a spare axle.
