    Primer options....

Yeah but I wouldn’t follow any advice I give!:D I have used acid 8 etch primer with good results in the past..... You only really need a light coat on bare aluminium (and I think you can use it straight on galv if it has been aged), then normal primer everywhere else. What I did notice though...

    Propshaft type

If your engine sits close to the bulkhead, with the best part of a foot between it and the radiator, your gearbox / transfer box will be in their original position. In which case, a 2.5na / td / 200tdi front prop should be right. I’m guessing that this will be the case as the earlier rear prop...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Not today, but over the weekend I 1-caught a fishy in the floods!:D 2-replaced the clutch slave cylinder as the old one dumped its guts into the bell housing!( no pics as I was too cross!) Luckily I keep a spare on the shelf so it got sorted straight away. I’ll get a master cyl and slave...

    Landy Ownership

mine spends not enough time in places like this. It’s my mostly daily driver though so as Marmaduke says, one keeps away from situations which compromise its daily duties. And fair play to the OP..... Find it Build it Drive it its all good (and it’s how I ended up with my 2A a few years ago....)

Should I refit 2a wings back to original or keep s3?

The one on there now? I think its series 3 but I'm no expert. Think the panel for the wire cross type grill should have hook type brackets for the mesh grille to sit in. Cant see them in the picture which leads me to think its S3. As I said though, I'm not a rivet counter so it's quite...

Should I refit 2a wings back to original or keep s3?

Personally id get it solid and reliable. Run it and iron out any issues. Once you're all happy with it, either paint what you have or leave it as is, gather the parts to go with headlights in the centre (looks loads better in my opinion) and then paint it. Definitely safety and reliability...

The Mystery of the First Landrover Revealed....

I’d like to see it returned to a structurally sound, running vehicle, with as much originality as possible. It’s a shame for it to remain as it is but a full restoration would spoil it imho..... It ain’t mine though (sadly)

    Show me your fronts!! :D

I think an air con front panel and gloss black plastic grille would look good on there as it’d bring the grill out to sort of match the profile of the light guards. I don’t think I’d be worried too much about a low profile winch bumper as approach and departure angles aren’t as critical on a...

There was another time with the same series 3 I mentioned earlier, where my then girlfriends mk3 escort broke down. She walked to my house and asked me to tow her home. I said yeah and we went off to her car. I suggested trying to bump start it behind the Landy so explained the process and told...

I came out of work once, many years ago (probably about 26 years ago) to my series 3, which was parked in the car park. Went to start it but it wouldn’t fire. Just bagged a lift home and when I went through the front door, there was an envelope on the mat. Inside was my rotor arm:mad:. One of...
