    Series 2 restoration busy week

There’s nothing like a new chassis to be bolting stuff too!:) It’s a lovely looking Landy. Are you going to keep it looking as is? Rich

Disco to 90 Transfer box change?

Managed to get the speedo drive out of the disco box. It just levered out with a terminal screwdriver. Assuming I can get the one out of my trattor box, will it fit straight into the disco box or does the gear that drives it need to be changed as well?

    T cut alternative...

Some of us just peel a layer of paint off when it gets too scratched! My tratters like an onion! Found a layer of desert sand yesterday:D In all seriousness, quite amazing what can be polished out with a bit of elbow grease and some product! Says on the bottle it works on hands too:rolleyes::D:p

    300TDi Swap Over Help

That’s pretty much it! Just remember that the engine sits quite close to the bulkhead so be mindful of that as you lift it clear of the mounts. Other that that, one out, one in. You don’t need to be too precious about the disco (I just cut off everything in the way (including the transmission...

Disco to 90 Transfer box change?

I can offer no help or advice whatsoever but I am about to do this same swap on mine so reading with interest as I have an early lt 230 which is soon to be replaced by the disco unit whilst i overhaul my original one....

First land rover disco 1 trayback

Not sure I like the way the rear wheel arch flows into the tray on the red one, although I do not dispute the obvious skill that must have been involved. I think it would have looked better if the vertical curve of the rear cab corner had been carried on down to the bottom of the cab (I know...

    Best source of footwell panels

I’ve seen footwells riveted in that have gone through an mot. I’ve also seen an accident repaired puma with the drivers footwell bonded in! Not sure how I’d feel about that!

    12v oil pump?

Not tried one but this looks like a cheaper alternative to the oilsafe pumps (which we use at work and are brilliant) https://www.ap-tech.co.uk/products/details/16177.html?aditem=16177&gref=59549707611&gdev=m&gloc=9046425

:)Sounds a good plan and thanks for the tips! Buddy, the 110 looks great! It is the removal of the numerous layers that was concerning me but it looks like paint stripper is the way to go! Cheers and sorry for the hijack!:D Rich

I agree about the food thing......it’s amazing how far the crumbs from a Greggs sausage roll can spread!

    Superwinch husky

Well the winch idea has gone out of the window. The seller wants £250 for it which is far to high for me to go to for a used winch with a broken solenoid (he admitted to this on the phone) and no rope. I know these parts can be replaced but I could get a new tiger shark 9500 for £400 which...

First land rover disco 1 trayback

I like that.......a lot! It’s great to see a different take on things as opposed to the more often seen bobtailed and chopped versions (not that there owt wrong with them btw). Just nice to see a break from the norm.:) If that’s the “sensible daily driver” in picture 3, just oof :D Rich

00KK53 - My Soft Top 12v GS TUL 90. So a soft top 90 then......

Looks a decent repair to me and I like the ‘patina’ that remains on the wing! Do you use aerosols or have you got a compressor and spray equipment? Rich
