D1 EFI manifolds and exhaust into One Ten V8 CSW

I can’t advise on the pipes exactly. But I wouldn’t hold out too much hope for substantial gains. What V8 are you running? Is it a low CR 3.5? If so that’ll be your issue. Most petrol engines do their best work at mid or higher rpm. The low CR 3.5 is heavily strangled though. And while in...

Possible blown head gasket. What next?

Sadly this is the choice. You either pay someone or have a go yourself. If you have a couple of mates and some hand tools. Then doing a head gasket isn’t that hard. But as a first ever job I can see it being a little daunting. On the flip side. The Tdi (well the entire Land Rover really) is...

    Series Salisbury axle

Where are you and what are you actually trying to achieve here? A Series axle (per your thread title) be it Rover or Salisbury type is narrower than axles fitted to any coil sprung Land Rover. So not suitable for a Disco 1. A wider Salisbury was fitted to the One Ten and 127 however.

Making a defender look like a series ??

That looks bloody dreadful. Can’t see how it would be road legal in the U.K. either. What and f’ing awful thing!!!

    S3 power steering opinions please?

What electric pump options are there? I’d assume you’d need a beefy alternator to power such a pump? What engine do you have? When I fitted p38 PAS to my 88 I also converted to a 200Tdi, so it was easy and simple to just retain the factory Tdi pump setup.

    Wheels and tyres

Or maybe reading the op. Even as a joke, how would you get them fit to standard LR rims…

Obviously also check that the springs are seated correctly in both mounts and that the axle end one hasn’t rotted away.

Disco 2 Do you need extended shocks for a 0.8 inch lift at the front? Air suspension in the back (SLS)

Standard shouldn’t really be all that soft. Do you have ACE? A D2 with ACE should make for a very flat ride and one of the best road handling live axle 4x4s ever produced. Standard suspension is also usually a good mix of all use. Although improved damping is often available with better...

Disco 2 Do you need extended shocks for a 0.8 inch lift at the front? Air suspension in the back (SLS)

As per my other post. You’d do yourself huge favours in going off and reading up on how the suspension works. There are so many badly modified D2’s it’s unreal. They just seem to attract people who want to make them awful on road and terrible off road. The basic suspension is of sound design...

Disco 2 Do you need extended shocks for a 0.8 inch lift at the front? Air suspension in the back (SLS)

What do you want to achieve with the vehicle? Rarely does anything “need” something. But there are many many ways to lift a vehicle. Some will improve how they drive off road. Others will reduce off road capability. Basic suspension operation is not all that complex. And having an...

    Rear suspension Sag

Tbh I don’t know what type of shock they are. You could just undo the bottom mount on each shock and move them out from the axle. That will tell you if the shocks are causing the lean or not.

    Rear suspension Sag

Why do you think it is the shocks? Are they gas shocks? Do they expand on their own or are they oil filled and stay static? If the latter they won’t impact ride height.

Head gasket? Blowing out of the rear cylinder by the bulkhead.

putting my mark on on hybrid series 2a

And to add. You’d be well advised to actually read the guidance on the .gov site. And NOTE it is guidance and not a definitive technical spec. You should also note that the entire procedure is a self declaration one. This is a very key part!!!! Most modified Land Rovers are likely to be...

putting my mark on on hybrid series 2a

Not really no. The current law was introduced to stop “ringers” where people where welding 2 crashed unibody cars together (usually badly) and passing off as a single vehicle. It was never intended to stop genuine builds and modifications. Loads and loads of kit cars for example are legally...

Wouldn’t even know where to begin with some councils. Pretty sure they are not all easily available online. So it isn’t a route I’d personally take in finding rights of way. UCR’s are shown:
