Electric Steering Pump - Swap NTC8287

Hear from where? No reason a new pump should leak tbh.

Electric Steering Pump - Swap NTC8287

Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just buy a new PAS pump?

    New Gearbox

I think there is a fitting or cog or something that goes into the transfer box isn't there? It would have been on your old one if you had the OD unit fitted.

    Anyone encountered these LED headlights?

wtf you never asked anything "technical". On both forums you asked if anyone is running these, as you clearly want to fit and use them on your ROAD going Defender. Which means the legality of them is not only pertinent, but also part of their technical spec.

    Anyone encountered these LED headlights?

Why??? Use it as designed.... it works as proven with 40 years worth of production.

    Anyone encountered these LED headlights?

So you think you are above the law and regs don't apply to you? What a w@nker you are then.

Early 90 heavy steering, different tyres?

205 x 16 is normally sold as 205/80R16 these days. Although I think I've seen one tyre maker list them as 205/85R16, but I think they were still the same thing. 205/80R16 is a great size for a Freelander and is 28.9" tall and still pretty narrow (although depends on the the brand/tread to how...

Early 90 heavy steering, different tyres?

It kind of depends what is causing the heavy steering. If you say it is heavier than it should be, it sounds like something might be worn or faulty. Or at least needing some attention. Smaller, lighter tyres (and more road biased) will generally be easier to turn than big, wide off road ones...

    Series 2a 69/70 wiring mess

Standard Series wiring always looks a mess. Doesn’t mean it is. Also note that a Series would probably only had 2 fuses. Not a fuse box…. So long as it is safe. It should be fine. If you really don’t like it. You can start over. The wiring is pretty simple really.

    3.9 on carbs?

Well you did ask, not sure why you are then objecting to replies.......... As for looking right. Bollox, there was no such thing as a Rover V8 in 1959, as the engine didn't make it debut in Rover guise until 1967.

    3.9 on carbs?

    Holley 390 or Weber/Edelbrock 500 is a common carb on an RV8. I use the latter on a 3.9

    3.9 on carbs?

What size and spec carbs though and what sort of power output? Plenty of XK engines use triple setups.... And a few used a couple more :D

    3.9 on carbs?

Yes and lots of people use carbs on a 3.9 in this fashion. However twin SU’s is barely adequate for a low CR 3.5 and will likely strangle a 3.9 if you are hoping for good power and performance.

    Is a D3/D4 less "bouncy" than a D2? What about a L322 2002-2011?

This sort of depends on what you are meaning. A Disco 2 shouldn't really be "bouncy". Is it modified? A D2 should easily be more comfortable than say a modern Ford Fiesta. Although if equipped with 18" rims the ride can be a little rougher than on 16's. The D3/4 is a completely different...

    1980 Range Rover 2 door v8 to 300tdi

Based on their tone and high number of spamming posts in short order. I pressume they are returning serial banned member, likely heading for another account being banned if they carry on?

    1980 Range Rover 2 door v8 to 300tdi

As it is a bespoke build, you can probably do as you like to make it fit. There isn't really a right or wrong. I would say, have you checked the price of 2 door RR's recently though? The Tdi is an ok engine, but a little unrefined and somewhat underpowered in a Range Rover. I understand you are...

There are lots of ways to get coils onto a Series, some people have added the spring seats to the original chassis or some have used something like a Range Rover or Disco 1 chassis as basis as a build. If you plan to keep the current engine, simply swapping the gearbox is likely a lot of work...

What are your aspirations with the vehicle? I.e. what do you want to do with it? And how much do you want to spend. I'm guessing this is a coiler conversion, which is (was) common and loads out there. Ignore the idiots. Common engine swaps are Tdi's and Rover V8's. But both will require a bit...
