I probly know the answer before I ask it but: Can I use one shot grease in my diff? Pinion seal weeps a bit and I was just wondering if grease might slow it down a few weeks/months/years.

Was talking to a mate today about ECUs, cats and related electrickery and exhaustin stuff. Should a 1998 300tdi have lots of electrical engine management stuff or is it all mechanical/manual and should it have some kind of catastrophic converter cos mine just seems to be captain caveman stuff.

I was advised to wrap PTFE (plumbers) tape round brake union threads. Anyone else tried it?

That when you are sorting one thing out another problem comes and kicks you in the crotch. Just sorting out a fuse when I noticed a bit of flaky paint at the bottom of the A post. Result? 4" rust hole. Bollix:mad::mad::mad:

My Disco came with an irish plate. Prolly worth more than the motor:):):)

How much time have you got. It took me ages to learn to weld and even now I wouldn't risk my life on it. If you pay to get it done professionally at least can shout at someone when it all goes horribly wrong.
