Well I must have had the Green Oval gods on my side yesterday. I jacked up the front. Of the chassis with a farm jack and within 2 minutes I managed to manipulate the down pipe over the gearbox crossmember and up to the manifold. Result. Now, due to my obvious delight at getting something to go...

Zed, I thought about it but, I only have a gas one and they put out too much moisture. weather not too bad today and I have taken the day off to get some more done.

More painting, top coat this time and my first attempt. So far so good, although I need to revisit the lower sills. Managed to get the tub in place for its primer coat and then top coat. My real worry now is the change in weather, more rain and low temps.

I’m considering adding Alpine windows to my 200tdi van as the roof is off as I work through a restoration, this might be a good opportunity to do the work at a useful work height. SP Panels are selling a kit that looks good and well priced. I know I’m adding more opportunities for water leaks...

My chassis was certainly DECEASED

I deceased my chassis and rubbed down with course abrasive pad, then used Buzzweld "Galve in One" , so far so good. My thinking was I wanted to have a paint that would stick on galvanised steel jus in case I missed a bit.

All prepped for paint, decided to use stone guard on the inner wheel arches and base of the tub, with Buzzweld Galve in One on the repair panels. It looks grey in the photos but it’s all black. Just need to mask off the bottom of the tub when doing primer/ top coats hopefully making the job...
