    Tracker recommendations, please

😱. I just bought a 2011 Honda civic 18 si-ivtec for £300, for a friend and it's a good car. That's more than my insurance costs. Is there not a more reasonably priced option ?

    Tracker recommendations, please

How much do these trackers cost to buy, and is their ongoing maintenance costs ? On my 300 TDI pick-up I have the huge disclock steering lock and an X lock which locks the truck in third gear. But I would fit a tracker to work with android ifit was cheap and a one off cost. When out and about...

    LT95 mainshaft wear

At least you've got all year teeth still lol, yes that taper bearing looks very bad, maybe a lack of oil changes in the past or the wrong oil was used. But the chances are, new bearings and seals will have it running just fine. There's a ton of back lash and play in these drive trains anyway...

    LT95 mainshaft wear

I figured delivery would add much to the cost.butyour time and labour has value too. I fell down the rabbit hole with mine preparing for the MOT. So new floor panels from YRM,new stub axle, half shaft, bearings and discs. Plus original AP calipers which cost £400 alone 😬. I could get chinesium...

Series 3 passenger side fuel tank

I get crud in Gigi's fuel from the metal tank. I may need to get it lined to protect from the Hydroscopic effects od Ethanol in petrol, which attracts water into the fuel. I have addded a super powerful magnet to the bottom of tank, regularly clean the glass bowl pre fuel pump crud filter as...

300 tdi I gas flowed my new cylinder head, after head gasket fail, 97 Defender pick-up Peggy

Lol, she does seem fine for power, goes straight to her length in mph, but only did that once to try to get her to overheat, and on a slight incline. People ordinary cars were looking at me strangely as we zipped past them. But no smoke, apart from a wee puff at startup for a second, and had...

300 tdi I gas flowed my new cylinder head, after head gasket fail, 97 Defender pick-up Peggy

Well having driven over a hundred miles found I was overheating as speed and on big long hills! After some head scratching figured the viscose fan coupling wasn't doing its thing. The bimetallic part is working, so I can only assume there is a lack of silicone fluid inside. When the bimetallic...

300 tdi I gas flowed my new cylinder head, after head gasket fail, 97 Defender pick-up Peggy

It's aboot the same old truck sound wasn't loud before and I was still able to sell the head, valves and guides being pretty good. But a steep hill coming up to Midmar from my woods required second gear before, even my Subaru XV turbodiesel requires 2nd gear to get and keep going before being...

300 tdi I gas flowed my new cylinder head, after head gasket fail, 97 Defender pick-up Peggy

I'm Shure a bigger intercooler would push some more power, but the one I got is suppose to have more flow and cooling fins so it certainly does no harm. The old one was not worth cleaning out because the fins would never be goodno amount of work short of a re-core would do any good fir the auld one

I cleaned up the air pipe turbo to intercooler, which is galvanised and painted it as the oil sump pan, also fitted a set of Blue Silicone Intercooler Hose Kit which looks a bit posh. The intercooler fins was a bit of a mess, previous crud from the now blanked EGR had left deposits of carbon and...

I decided it would be a good idea to remove the sump and scrape any built up gunge oot! It has become rather rusty, and the contents would tell a story too, maybe one I didn't want to hear, but to get it really clean inside and restored outside makes senseIn the oil there was no sparkles, phew...

300 tdi I gas flowed my new cylinder head, after head gasket fail, 97 Defender pick-up Peggy

I needed a no hole gasket which is the thickest and the new head came with a 3 hole. At last, it was begging it was beginning to feel like I was caught in a never ending time loop! And I really miss driving Peggy. I f'd up torquing all the head bolts before fitting the restored air filter...

Lol, the dogs are aboot, The valve seat got some junk from all the work between the hardened steel seat and alloy head.but this all got cleaned off before reassembly with the oven cleaner and jet washing. The valves should all hold a pretty gas tight seal, there was just one that the lapping...
