I'll do that and if the whine goes, I'll treat myself to a new prop. I can't see any reason why it should wear unless prop put of balance. Refurbished box with only about 10 - 15k.

That's the one I got. Cheap and simple. Came in handy when the wife's car failed mot on corroded brake pipes. Paid for itself. I also got a bending tool just to satisfy my ocd :)

Was the box centered before connecting to drop arm or linkage. May have different travel lengths between left and right.?

That's exactly how my two year rebuild started.

I'd thought of that but would lose floor height. I suppose If i just slide out under a false floor some ply + carpet, I'd only lose 2 inches.

It's swings out with the door. I might be able to fab something that, with an extra hinge, folds up onto the wheel.
