Thanks Keith. Hardly ANY rust...just the odd bit that I spotted when I viewed by powerful torch in the dark last night. So far, there's only very long brake pedal travel, although it does stop without drama. One rear passenger window is u/s at main swith pack, so I'll check out the rear switch...

Thanks for your input, Nodge68. I was somewhat surprised to see drums at the rear when I viewed the car by torchlight last night. Not had a car with drum brakes for decades! I'll get the brakes checked-out by my trusted mechanic as soon as he can

Hi. I'm Mike - Jondor is my project nightmare...I mean project barge. Last night, after working on my 2000 P38 4.6 Thor chariot that failed MOT last month, I took the plunge on an 02 GS, TD4 - powered 5-door Freelander with almost 190k miles on the odometer. It's very scruffy, but already...

Last night, after discovering the wet stuff leaking significantly from the heater matrix in my P38, I went and did it... ........... I bought a TD4-powered 02 REG Freelander for £550. Please forgive AND pray for me one and all... I still have my P38 - always shall until I pop my clogs - but...

It tastes (allegedly) better than yellow snow...but that's NOT a challenge for you:cool:

When mine exhibited the same error, it was the EAS Driver pack. Good luck!

What does the P38 have then Keith. Someone once told me to ensure the MOT tester didn't test brakes on rolling road. Then again...that may have been on either of my AUDI A8 's. Ain't getting older great:cool::confused:
