    ABS Sensor fault live readings

+1 on the dodgy connection, if the car isn't moving it isn't picking up a signal that could alter voltage. Check the connections and the cable from the sensor upwards....

    Shaking

It's been a while since I posted this, but I have finally fixed it. I have just replaced the front axle ball joints - top and bottom. There must have been just enough play in them to start off the vibration which very quickly got worse and could only be stopped by braking and slowing down. I...

    ball joints

I am just about to do this too, the ball joints have arrived, but not the press tool....... I believe that it is a tough job. I would imagine that alignment will be straightforward as long as the balljoints are pressed home completely.

    Where do you guys buy??

I use Island 4x4, they have been very good in all respects, particularly delivery speed and communication. Prices are good too.

    hgv battery

Ah right, I only remember the days when it was a big 24 Volt battery!

    hgv battery

I thought that HGV batteries were 24 volt! Connecting one of those up would fry your electrics! Unless of course some HGVs have 12 volt versions........

Your worst P38 job - ever??

can't connect to EAS to clear fault

I ended up replacing the OBD socket, but not with one from the same year. I went to a local scrap yard, bought a couple of different ones from newer cars and made one up with the right pins for the P38. Connection was great from then on. You could have damaged your OBD lead from the Lynx I...

    overheat problems

When you say it is overheating, is it actually overheating and throwing steam / water out, pipes under great pressure etc... OR is the needle on the dashboard saying that it is overheating?

    Nanocom Evolution

Colin, the picture doesn't really show his (Oscar's) size, but of course the paws give it away - he is huge!, mum was a labrador, dad was a giant poodle making him an F1 Labradoodle. He turns 2 at the beginning of December and has at times been absolutely bonkers! He has calmed down now...

I have just managed to get an Avic 500 via eBay, just waiting for it to arrive then I'm going to fit it, I thought it did the lot too! My radio has just died off, so I thought it was a good time to do the conversion. I have a separate Garmin SATNAV at the moment which is mounted in the coin...

Tyres - Winter on the way

Sorry guys, just noticed my "Typo", it should read 255 55 18 The speed rating is what is on the tyres already, 186 MPH is probably a little excessive, perhaps the last owner had delusions about the top speed achievable! I will have a loo for the AT version, I had assumed that the AT2 was the...

Tyres - Winter on the way

My P38 is just about due new tyres, they are currently what I would call road tyres. I live in a rural area which is high enough to get plenty of snow when it comes down. Earlier in the year when we got the last decent snowfall, I was heading home along a very dark lane with snow going...
