    Heater box blowing lukewarm

Is your heater box flap adjusted so it goes over all the way so nothing diverts past the heater matrix? Is your coolant level ok? Do you have a air lock at the top of the heater matrix?

Saying Hi and Help needed to keep my defender from being nicked!

This one is as old as the internet and is well worth a google. Either go for a detachable steering wheel or a clamp like the disclok that covers the full wheel as the other types can be cut off by cutting the steering wheel. A pedal lock and a good alarm are also good investments. Until I...

    90 headlight issue!

I'm not familiar with your car and its wiring, but as you've got no answers, I'd start by checking any fuses and the bulbs. A easy way to check the bulbs if your not sure if they have blown is swap them for the opposite side that you know works.

    TD5 ECU Extension looms.

It could be depending on the price as you can buy one but its expensive for what it is. I've moved mine on a td5 defender to the bulkhead between the seats as the wiring harness is long enough to allow it to be moved slightly higher

    LT230 gear ratios

I'm on 33's and a 1.2 on a mapped td5. I'm thinking of going back to a 1.4 as hill starts especially when towing are not good. On the motorway however which is where it spends most of its life its miles better and the reason I haven't changed!

    TD5 Engine

Have the crank shaft pulley looked at to see if it's still ok. Usually a squeak when shutting the engine down

What’s your personal experience with LED’s

I've got full led lights on everything. The headlights are miles better and I've still got the original wiring. The indicators needed a new adjustable relay but that's it

Same problem with the all makes door handle. I used liquid steel on the end of the pin so it could fall out anymore. The original was a split tube that didnt fit in the all makes one

TD5 Defender and keeping a high miler rolling

For the price of a td5 engine, I'd just keep it well serviced. They are 10 a penny now and not worth the agro of checking mains IMO.

Any idea how much these wheels and tyres are worth

I agree on the price of the tyres, however I thought they were freestyle alloys at 1st glance which I sold for £10 each. I've seen people hunting for the compromotive wheels. Google em or look on Ebay, they go for more

    Transmission Failure error... D3.

When I got that message on my old one it needed a gearbox oil change and a bit of a service. Their are loads of d3's about, and gearbox rebuilds are expensive as I found out. Walk away and find another. Have you owned a de before?? Mine was a money pit despite being low mileage, it had in no...

    Water down your snorkel...

I've been looking for something to remove that stupid one way valve/trap. Even sealed with silicone I'm waiting for it to let me down

    Noisy Fuel Pump TD5

Mines always been a noisy pump even though I've replaced a few. I do find a new fuel filter can quieten it down though so might be worth a try

    TD5 Down On Power

Unplug the MAF. It will run slow for about 20 seconds until the ECU realises its buggered and then gives a base value. If it then goes like it should it's a MAF problem. Mines just had its 2nd genuine one go in 5 yrs so its running around unplugged now
