Tough start to the land rover world

Most of my work over the last few months has been actually in the UK... and the RR has been pounding the motorways this month - over 1000 miles since the middle of October! Also sadly, even when I'm abroad, I'm still working for UK companies/being paid in the UK in GBP - so no escaping the...

Tough start to the land rover world

Sorry - just seen I've been tagged in this post... I'm away working a LOT at the moment and don't even have reliable phone signal in one of the places I'm spending most of my week - yet alone internet!! As others have mentioned - Door latch... It looks like @DanClarke has you on the right...

    P38A remote filter? anybody here?

Thanks - much appreciated! It took a lot of work to figure out how to do it, and get it coded properly, but it's also just nice to be able to have an alternative to the LR version at their silly prices!

P38A becm disabled still asks for keycode

They probably put a fuse in F11 thinking there was supposed to be one in there... then when it came up with messages and wouldn't drive, assumed the worst that the BECM was faulty and jumped to replacing that, instead of pulling the fuse out again!

    P38A Pulling connectors

Depends on which connectors. As long as it's not any of the 3 main power feeds, or the main ground feed you should be fine. In fact there's parts of the BECM SID which mention about disconnecting various things to narrow down battery drain issues, with a multimeter/ammeter connected. If...

P38A becm disabled still asks for keycode

On the BECM fuse box, is there a fuse in position 11? If there is, then this will shift the transfer case into neutral - it is designed for being able to tow the vehicle on all 4 wheels without damaging the transmission... If there is a fuse in slot 11, take it out, and when you turn the...

P38A becm disabled still asks for keycode

If you have KEYCODE LOCKOUT on the dash, and don't have the EKA code then you pretty much need to pull the BECM out and send it off to someone like myself who can hook the logic board up directly to diagnostic and bypass the security lockouts and reset them... that's worst case scenario. If you...

    P38A remote filter? anybody here?

Sadly not from this specific one... as it is programmed to just recognise P38 key fobs and only then pass the encoded data stream on to the BECM for it to check if the code is valid for that particular vehicle. That being said, if there are other vehicles that suffer battery drain due to RF...

    P38A remote filter? anybody here?

It will work on any generation, and is designed for use ideally with the first/second generation receiver - as it does the same job as the 3rd gen receiver by filtering out everything BUT a P38 keyfob. We have just managed to find a way to do that and package it up as a plug-and-play inline...

    P38A remote filter? anybody here?

Yes, myself and a mate/fellow P38 owner, Nick have developed these - so far about 60 of them are out and about in P38's around the world. You can also get them direct from the website: www.p38webshop.co.uk They are the same price, but the only difference is that we don't get charged £8.50 in...

    P38A Heated seats

As mentioned - they are fed separately between drivers and passenger - so if one doesn't work, the other still should (assuming it's elements are intact). I think what people are meaning on the forums about jumpering is the seat base/back. The feed goes into the seat base, though the...

    P38 Cranking

EAS manual will only show up on the dash when in access mode (from memory if you leave it locked in access mode when shutting down, it will show it when powering up again so you can use it to crawl around parking garages). The other time you'll see it is if the vehicle is actually running on...

P38A The Old P38 Runs again!

Glad it's all working properly again... it was properly cooked inside.... I'll share the pictures if he doesn't mind. Luckily all it needed was a replacement power board (one of the tracks was actually blown off the board!) and a replacement ribbon cable between the logic and power boards, as...

    P38A 98 2.5 DSE With electrical issues

Ooops, I forgot to put the link in an actual 'link' www.p38webshop.co.uk <-- try that one Yes, the issue is almost certainly in the BECM somewhere -but if it start/runs, then I at least some of the logic board is working. What else does it do other then the horn/petrol flap randomly...

    P38A 2001 keeps blowing no1 fuse...Now FIXED

That's very kind of you, thank you! I'm not sure when I'm next even going to be able to escape for a break of any kind as the rest of the year for me is starting to get busy with work, but if I find myself over there, I will let you know! It's always nice to chat Range Rovers with other people...

    P38A 98 2.5 DSE With electrical issues

I've had BECMs come from NZ, US, Canada before to reprogram them - I have the MSV2 with the BECM CPU module so can reprogram logic boards. You won't be able to read the CPU without this, and as others have said, if the Faultmate is VIN locked, then you won't be able to talk to the replacement...

    P38A 2001 keeps blowing no1 fuse...Now FIXED

I've actually been in the UK since the end of June (having a few withdrawal symptoms from airports though... ) having clocked up 28 flights in the first half of the year by the time I got back from Dubai!! I've had a few jobs in the UK, and also been nursing my own RR back to full health after...

    P38A 2001 keeps blowing no1 fuse...Now FIXED

Is it JUST fuse 1 that it blows? the Brown/Light green wire that is C105, on the post on the side of the BECM is one of the main power feeds to the BECM from the underbonnet fuse box. It feeds into the BECM and it feed fuse F1, F2, F3, F4 and some internal components on the BECM board. So if...
