I did put a new clutch in it in 2015 after the old one getting a touch warm dragging horse boxes out of the parking, low box and it's quite amazing what you can drag out of a muddy field with a 2 tonne 4x4 on mud terrain tyres :) I fitted an uprated/strengthened/modified clutch fork and the HD...

I can't help but think that I should just chuck the gearboxes together and get the garage to do the swap for me. They have a ramp and tranny jack with all the tools they need, new clutch and spigot bush and it should be golden?

Ha, I went to go drag my good gearboxes out the corner last night and it just pains me to start spannering after so long welding, but needs must an all that. Ordered a new input shaft seal for the transfer box and will do the seals and bearing the weekend.

The crush tubes are huge and offer a lot of adjustment, top hinge in an bottom hinge out a touch while you lift should help, I undo 2 of the 3 on each hinge and merely slack the third enough to let me wriggle it with a bit of pressure but not drop back down and then quickly nip it up. If it is...

    Disco 1 D1 300TDI Diff lockers, 35" tyres & Immobiliser

Your 300 is going to struggle to pull 35" rubber on standard gears. Suggest F&R lockers with 4.7 R&Ps to solve gearing issues and yes you will need to think about the rubbing as the tyres are a bit taller. What offset are current rims? Any less than -33 and you will need to look at spacers...

Good place to start for young H then.

Disco 2 Possible worn body mounts?

OEM are fine, the rear seat belt ties are a simple eye bolt with a rubber grommet in the hole through the bracket on the cross member, the inner chassis ones I speak of are either side of the gearbox around the transmission tunnel.

Sorry about the anaraky equation lol Have you had her remapped yet? I have heard that you can get better power and economy from a simple remap.

Disco 2 Possible worn body mounts?

Not so much as wear but they are a round rubber donut and they do compress over time. They are readily available as replacement parts and you would be wise to replace them all including the inner chassis mounting bushes too.

Disco 2 How many miles from a tank of Derv? Auto/Manual

    That's 21 an a bit mpg*, not bad for an auto by all accounts. {* = guesstimation of £1.30/L for diesel} £110 (£1.30/l) = 85L = 19G /405mls = 21.3mpg

OMG :eek::eek: I might bodge a little just to get me by but that is mental lol :D:D:D No clunk thankfully, for sure I will need to get it sorted soon as no doubt I will forget to top it up, head off on a long trip and KaBooom as it grenades across the underside of the truck lol

£2k or there abouts Only on the R380 and for an additional £130, mine is the older LT77, not sure if the R380 is a direct swap onto the LT77 bell housing or not?

Don't know about it being cross drilled but I have pulled the PTO cover and looked the shaft splines over and they look pretty good considering the kilometres it's done.

    Project Rusty.

I did the output shaft seals on this Transfer box a little while ago, documented the front as I did the bearing at the same time but the rear bearing was fine and just the seal needed replaced. https://projectrusty1992.blogspot.com/2018/03/fitting-new-front-output-bearing-in.html It's the poxy...
