I'd have never found those screws! So close.. well, the lower seatbelt bolt should come off to remove the panel but I only needed the carpet, releasing it from the loadspace loops and some good pulls got it free from underneath. Semi sunny day so it should dry now. Kind of like the bare metal...

I'm having the same problem. Funny you should mention the left side specifically as one of the proposed water entry points is a grille in the plastic below the window. I'm yet to stick some tissues in and find out if they get wet
