Got the new condenser and orings, plus the tailgate struts and relays delivered, but too windy to get the cover off him and do anything. So fitted the new speedo cable to the 125 and mended the chain oiler ready for office Friday.

Otto's renewal was about x5 this year on quote, shopped about, rang them to cancel the auto renewal and they matched the best I'd found on the web, which was still double.

If I came across something looking like that I would assume it's been got at. What fits onto or into it? If that is smooth then I'd say a good candidate for your leak has been found.

Stalk /mount may be different but I think from the look that all buckles and latches are pretty much the same everywhere. So you may get lucky with mechanism and spring from any car?

Uncovered him, took off the battery charger and dehumidifier. Started first turn of the key, steady running with no throttle needed. Took him out for a short jaunt, about 8 miles. Gears and drive smooth, forgot the GPS speedometer so don't know if the speedo was playing up. Revved him to the...

I suspect the difference is between dry pure nitrogen and ordinary air containing water. The speed and temperature will boil a little of the water in the air, which at approx 700:1 expansion will make a noticeable difference to the pressure.

Noise, vibration, harshness. Basically making it quieter and smoother.

Don't know about the MAP sensor, but cleaned Otto's MAF sensor by plugging the outlet sides with cotton wool and standing it vertical with the inlet uppermost, then filling it with isopropyl alcohol and letting it drain through slowly. Then took the cotton wool out and gave it another rinse...

Times I have had this sort of issue (various older cars) , oh and my dad's old Skoda after he'd had a meeting with a horse and it did similar, there is a hairline crack or pinhole at that level on the header tank. So under pressure it leaks down to there, then tends to stay steady unless over...

Less smoke on the bits they do the emission tests on. But the regen cycle isn't in the emission tests so it doesn't get seen. If it was modern diesel would be worse emissions than old ones.

My old XJ550 used to do that, about a thousand miles before the service schedule said it should be changed. Didn't feel any change in performance but economy went off a cliff, something like 40% drop. Hasn't @kermit_rr been complaining of poor economy?

Don't know about RR brakes but Powerhouse Automotive in chesterfield do top rate brake seal kits and pistons if needed for bikes. Used them for the Yamaha, the triumph and the Honda. Barely any extra cost over some eBay kits but streets ahead on quality.

So the epb can decelerate the car even if it loses communication with everything, but I don't understand what it means by 'under the driver's control '. Surely the only effective brake control the driver has then is pressing the button, as it only reaches that point with electronic and hydraulic...

Otto is accurate to the GPS up to about 25mph, and again from about 65 (don't know how far as don't tend to hustle him like that), but in between is up to 10mph slow on the speedo. It is something to tinker with one day, when I run out of real jobs to do...

Uncovered him, emptied the dehumidifier, disconnected the trickle charger, folded the seats to have enough space to put the 2 from the Ka in the boot, as the carpet has to come out of her for leak investigation and some welding. Then started him, the relay swap seems to have made a difference as...

We've had about 60mm in the last 36 hours. Apparently the revised flood defences in town have held, unlike 2021. Luckily we're about 80 feet above river level where we are.
