Took him out for a 20 mile trip for garden centre lunch. Faultless, except the rear dribble and wipe. Sorted that when we got home. Now covered again with the trickle and dehumidifier working. Also got the Ka into the garage for leak rectification work, and need to refix the heatshield on the...

Put him on trickle again after charging the bikes and wife's Ka. Moved the dehumidifier from the Ka to Otto too, while we try to deal with the cabin leak on the Ka. So Otto should get a bit more use. Especially if the bike bits arrive tomorrow as due.

I think in the UK as long as ridge/eaves heights are below limit and not within 1.5m of a boundary, and not covering more than 50% of garden area you would be okay with the rules.

Otto's cruise doesn't work. Prime suspect is the vacuum hose at 25 years old, but also have suspicions about the connections for the set button on the wheel.

Like Otto. Covered, trickle charger and dehumidifier on the extension from the outside socket, everyday car parked in front. If we get the weather and health this year to do the headlining and sort out the roof seep while that is out then it would be easier. As wouldn't need the dehumidifier or...

If we had been given a 3 choice referendum instead of 2 I think it would have been markedly different. Stay in. Leave. Rescind the treaties we as voters didn't get a say on (Maastricht and Lisbon) so we were in for trade but not full unification. I think the majority would have said 3 was a...

Filled him. Warning light was on but only took just over 80 litres. Then wafted 160 miles to and from the parents in Yorkshire, only glitch being EAS error a couple of miles after leaving. Nanocom said unknown error but cleared it and no issues after. Lovely to have that view and the ease of...

Likewise on my fusion. Every MOT they get a bit more clarity for a while. Trick is not to rush or rub too hard (stop sniggering at the back) or you can scorch or scratch the surface.

Changed the battery in the spare key fob and didn't need to resynch it afterwards. Must be Christmas!

My wife has been contemplating doing Otto's roof with the cork sheet on a roll, although I doubt she is serious.

Electric CHT sensor like on aircraft, with a circuit that triggers a warning buzzer or light when it passes a threshold?

Lifted both ends separately no issues, was how we did the airbags.

We don't intend to lift him completely, only one end at a time, so 2 wheels are still on the ground and taking load. No such worry with the Ka.

We bought one of these so we could get Otto and the wife's Ka raised or tilted for underbody work. Very handy doing the air springs. https://cjautosheywood.co.uk/product/3in1-tilting-adjustable-car-lift-2-ton-cl01-2/

One of my tasks when I get time off at Christmas is to finally get to grips with nanocom as more than reading/ clearing error codes and reading live data.

Picked him up from the garage, drove him home, trickle and dehumidifier back in, cover on and got the low battery key resynched after new battery fitted.

If the threads suit, would a cap with a brake fluid level switch work? Or would that not hold the coolant pressure?

Wife took the spare key to the garage and he worked perfectly. So despite the battery testing okay and broadcasting a signal it obviously wasn't quite good enough to work the system. So will now be sourcing new batteries for both fobs - tidser 1220 in there. Passed the MOT with some advisories -...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Been on trickle charger for a couple of weeks, was trying to use a bit more fuel for them on the run there ready for the fuel pump so kept him in 3rd for the 20odd miles. Battery only 18 months old, high output alternator less than a year. It is as if the locking and immobilizer are totally...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Broke him. Started 3rd attempt, ran fine all the way to to the garage for fuel pump and MOT. Left him there and fortunately stayed reasonably local with Christmas shopping. Call from garage, not starting and alarm going potty. Thought it'd be just interference with the key but usual tricks...
