On Otto we found that jacking the driver front corner up helped to burp the air through better too - high point on that corer then instead of the middle of the system.

Between Thursday and this afternoon did a 350ish mile trip to north Lincs and back to see an elderly relative. Also stopped for dinner with my parents and was supposed to have a meal out with friends not seen since early in the global lurgi, but they were unwell so missed that. Had dinner at Guy...

Make a thinnish cork gasket too? That should take up the space / compress the rubber and be petrol resistant.

If in doubt, cross drill, undertighten and lockwire / pin.

This is on Otto - GEMS rather than Bosch, so different plenum, etc. Autobox dipstick is the orange knob, above the plenum inlet and in line with the shiny aircon pipe. Tube for it runs down between back of engine and bulkhead, to the gearbox.

Fixed the rear washer - eventually extracted the sprayer from the tailgate, the nozzle came out of the tube much easier. Flow was excellent without that in so used a dental tool to pop the ball out and thoroughly clean the fittings. Loads of crud trapped. All back together and working perfectly...

Looked at the rest of the exhaust - all somewhat worn so will make their job easier and do full system. Should be much quieter after that. Mild steel, externally protected with the same high temp paint we used on the manifold heat shields. Managed to get my left hand up and round the foglamp to...

Think I found the cause of our increased noise - have to get a new middle box once the daily is back from the garage and we've done our trip next weekend. My original patch on the split seems to have just forced it further round the front of the box, and now also seems to have blown a hole on...

Don't know - just email telling us he will be serving us with notice soon. Maybe hand delivered by the agent when they do the inspection on 17th...

And been sidetracked from the insurance hunt by getting an email from the **** letting agents that we are about to be given notice to quit and need to start looking for somewhere to go. Lovely timing, dropping that to crap on our bank holidays.

Brought DIY supplies for the gardening back home, left him pumped up to try to look at the exhaust blow and the washer pumps tomorrow. Got staggered by the 212% of last years quote for the insurance renewal. Starting shopping about.

Need to figure out why the cruise control has packed up. Not an obviously split / loose pipe this time, unlike the last 2. I'm guessing the brake pedal switches are the most likely culprit, but it will wait for a dry day.

Took him to the garden centre and BILs, then back home. Half way out, just after a sharp right under power we got beeps, all the EAS lights and the dash symbol but no message. Spent a couple of miles listing noticeably to starboard, then he levelled out but seemed a bit taller. Cycled the...

Drove into town and back for a coffee and pay the credit card. Then blew the credit card this evening taxing him again. Is it possible / easy to get to the washer pumps on the P38 without major dismantling? Want to swap the rear wash pump hose and plug onto the (hopefully working) headlamp...

WD will evaporate, you need a light oil / grease that will work in and stay liquid. Unless it is a teflon lined cable, when the oil can cause it to swell and bind. Made that mistake on the Guzzi once and it turned a heavy clutch to solid rock.

Otto is occasionally just a bit flaky about cleanly selecting Park, Reverse and Neutral. I just put it down to mechanical wear as a wriggle of the lever back and forth usually settles it. On Tuesday last week he wouldn't start for SWMBO when she had been to visit a friend - wasn't fully into...

Yep - the usual 7 1/4 inch gauge track at all of them I think. Not sure of the operating hours / days but they will all have a website or a bit on the garden centre page I imagine.

And the Dragon miniature railway at Marple, but that is a bit shorter. Shortest one locally I think is the simple loop one at High Legh garden centre
