    P38A Starting Problem

Was thinking about fuel filter and/or pump on mine. It doesn't like starting period. Have to feather accelerator to keep it showing 1000rpm for 10 or so seconds, then it will jump up in revs to about 1700 and after that, all's well. Does it cold or hot. Plugs, leads, etc all 'happy' with, but...

    P38A Insurance - classic status?

Just to clear this in case I've mis-typed to the point of confusion, I haven't got a RR Classic (saw one at the Game Fair for £15k and had a 5-minute conversation with myself about the actual benefits of two kidneys), I've got a P38. They said they called it a 'classic car'....

    P38A Insurance - classic status?

Got that. I wasn't after classic status (was as surprised as anyone when the guy mentioned it) but he said Admiral 'may' classify it as such. Never even thought of Saga. Doh.

    P38A Insurance - classic status?

There's a form to fill out when the paper docs come. They want minimum 5 photos and description of vehicle. Not saying whatever benefit is a given, but the guy on the phone didn't mention anything when I said SDP and commuting. Wait and see I suppose.

    P38A Insurance - classic status?

Hi all, just thought I'd share (and maybe someone will prove I'm still paying too much) my recent insurance renewal. I was with Direct Line and they quoted £800 for my renewal. Having come to consciousness again I went onto Admiral's website, entered all the details and their quote came back at...

    P38A Bu99er and question

Sorted new 'O' rings installed, still running dog rough. A quick search tonight found a short at the rear of No6. Soldering by a trained amoeba by the look of it. Duly mended. Vroom and purr. Big smile.

    P38A Bu99er and question

Thought I'd try the local dealer for a new set of 'O' rings: "Yes we can get those for tomorrow morning". "How much?" asked I. "About £70......." Click...purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thought as much, and not something most people have as a rule. Thanks though

    P38A Bu99er and question

Hi all, so following on from my previous trials and tribulations I was lucky enough to receive, as part of the gasket set I ordered, a new set of 'O' rings which I deduced to be for replacing the old ones on injectors. 2 weeks ago, Nanocom reported Injector 6 was up the spout. Long story short...

P38A Replacement lump: which way to go?

An update. First off....I know, OK? I just know. So before a resigned (collective noun) of Range Rover owners descend on the homestead armed with breaker bars with 6" nails welded to the ends, ready to do bodily harm to the philistine.....I know. But, the "best £20 I will ever spend.."...

P38A Replacement lump: which way to go?

Yeah, still losing water and pressurizing the coolant which, naturally, leads to more coolant loss as it is forced back out of the expansion tank. I was looking at these: From Emmetts. £1250 which I don't think is too bad for what should be a one-out-one-in type of job. Had one, Hilux Surf...

P38A Replacement lump: which way to go?

Hi all, well I've finally got to the end of Accept It Road, and feel that the block in my RR is terminal. So, assuming I want to keep it (too much time and cash put in to walk away) which way do I go? I can't afford a super-duper top-hatted baby at around £3200; I don't want to just grab any...

P38A LPG coolant feeds - what's yours like?

That's what I reckon may have happened. I'm going to run a la wallet drainer for the next couple of days to make sure then I'll get someone to have a proper look.
