Thanks both. I guessed the former answer, and as far as I can see the heads are....er...the same.

    P38A Advice please....knowledge maybe......

Good evening all. To keep this short I've had to have the heads checked on my 4.0. It's the 2nd time they've been off in 18 months or so but all's well there. They were skimmed last time but only pressure tested this time. However...using my usual bull-in-a-china-shop time management regime...

    Lpg advice lol

Water flow to reducer. If Tee'd off heater pipes and the Tees are too far from the reducer it can ice up due to the high-to-low gas pressure. My reducer is about 30 inches from where they were Tee'd off the heater pipes. No real flow so the LPG only played nicely after the engine bay had...

    P38A Electrickery drain,where am I going wrong?

Just as an aside (I too use the 2nd fob for the rf receiver) but have you checked that the LED at the side of the gear selector has completely extinguished (BECM gone to sleep)? Nice and easy on these dark nights...

    It's A Gas...

MIne beeps and cuts out if it isn't warm enough (I believe I read somewhere it can ice itself up if not hot enough). I've to re-route the water flow to the reducer. The T-offs would be fine if they were almost next to the reducer but its almost 3ft away, a 6ft round trip. Have ordered elbows...

P38A ABS 'fault' when reverse selected

Hi, no work done on the vehicle. The prob has been around for a while but is only a nuisance as it clears everytime I restart

P38A ABS 'fault' when reverse selected

Hi All, I've got a strange 'fault' that crops up from time to time. Ordinarily, selecting reverse causes no issues, but occasionally when I go from drive to reverse I get an audible warning and the dash displays "ABS FAULT". When I restart the car the 'fault' has disappeared. Any ideas what I...

    P38A Tailgate decals

Hi all, my 1996 4.0SE made me see a ghost the other night. I've only ever known it as a "4.0SE" through paperwork, but the other night, at a certain angle and at a certain distance, I saw the ghost of "4.0SE" on the lower tailgate to the right of the reg plate. If I was to replace these to...

    P38A Rovers a go-go

Anyone watched / watching "Braquo"? Its a french cop thing and full of range rovers. Makes the subtitles worth it :-)

P38 4.0 range rover runs fine on petrol really bad on LPG

Multi-point, you should have secondary - extra - electrical plugs and injectors above each petrol injector. Single point, you'll probably have a single gas feed line going into the plenum. Had my single point ripped out and a multi-point system installed. Also worth checking all electrical...

    P38A EAS advice

Just a thought, but mine had that same fault 2 weeks ago. Code read via the EAS software. Website states "RR valve stuck closed (description)..BUT..be wary of this message as lack of air can produce the same fault code." My compressor seal was fried. Swapped that, all sorted. Just a thought.

P38A What goes "vroom vroom" then "pootle pootle"...?

...that'll be a P38 with an EAS fault warning accompanied by the "don't go over 35mph or very bad things will happen" error display. It's quite surpising how 'good' roads suddenly become harbingers of all manner of bumps, humps and potholes. Still the application of the EAS software closely...

    P38A fuel tank bracket

Did mine about 18months ago. Run tank to about empty. I swapped the bracket by supporting the tank on some wooden 'stilts' to hold it in place. Undo the bolts, old one off, new one back in place. Easy job.
