    Check your steering tube as some track rod ends are full threaded early ones have a shoulder on track rod end for the tube clamp. Different part numbers.

    Oil in the intake could be from the turbo cartridge some is acceptable but not loads check the centre spindle of the turbo some movement is normal but should not be excessive. Search google for videos on turbo.

    Did you do a compression test before you took it to bits? Personally I would grind the valves in check for wear in guides whilst doing that and fit new oil seals put it back together if still smoking do a compression test. What colour was the smoke and when was it apparent as on start up...
