I’m tempted by this colour scheme. Wheels are in being resprayed satin black. Roofs going in to be blasted and sprayed alpine white. Something like this or sand might work.

Got the thing out, both covered in oil. Bloody nut on the earth post snapped off, fortunately there is enough of it left to reattach. Heavy old lump especially when covered in oil. Now the unenviable task of cleaning it up.

I reckon I’ll strip it on the bench and find it’s contaminated with oil and dirt. Worst case I’ll order a solenoid or a whole new unit. Be a bit of fun either way.

Loosen the terminals. Key to position before start, off, keys out, then you have approx 17 secs to simple lift off the terminals. The siren might blip, if you’re too late it might go off.

Get a monster, biggest that’ll fit with highest CCA. IIRC just be mindful of the battery orientation +- as the leads might not reach. @Datatek is the guru.

On the basis that the conversation with the boss when she gets home outweighs the task. Bathrooms cleaned, gyozas steaming. Also, I’ve emptied the dishwasher so I may have to deny I’ve either broken something or bought an expensive LR part. Maybe this was a step too far.

Motivation is lacking, I either a. do nothing b. go clean the en suit c. remove the stater motor, degrease it and ascertain why it’s sticking - burrits lunchtime nearly. If I can find any motivation I think I’ll do the cleaning, cook some gyoza for lunch, starter motor, and then do nothing?

Aye good idea. Need to tackle the washer motor as it’s kaput so will look for an alternative spot.

that wert injun after it got gunked. Plenty of other parts removed now to clean off the oil and access things like the starter motor, engine to chassis earth etc.
