Is this specifically for use with the winch?

    Winch Advice

The way I always see it, you want a master of one, not a jack of all. Get yourself a good compressor, a good jet wash and a good winch :) Plus that way if one of them breaks, it doesn't render the rest useless :D

    Lake District recommended?

Nuh uh, the rain is what makes the Lakes beautiful :)

8 year old daughter just put my hat on straight about colour!

No problem :) Mess, in what way? mud? If so, you should be jet-washing the entirety of your vehicle as part of the routine, including the undersides, otherwise rust WILL get the better of you :)

Also out of curiosity, been in any deep mud or deep water?

Mog's collection of interesting Defender's currently on Autotrader

You are not mistaken, I do have a 90 :) And if the trailer is gold plated and still cheap, sure! :p The reason for needing a trailer that can take a 110 is due to a potential plan I have up here for liberating old Landy's that have been abandoned on farm yards, and making them available to the...

8 year old daughter just put my hat on straight about colour!

It might look okay, if you can get me some high-res pictures i'll give it a shot for you so you can get an idea. Have a look at this, I would be tempted to do something like this. Here is a 2 second job I did to get an idea, ignore the terrible shopping, i'm working at the moment so don't have...

Mog's collection of interesting Defender's currently on Autotrader

I'm looking for something similar myself, something like the williams trailer which you can store the ramps underneath, yet the trailer has the ability to be used as a regular trailer and not just a car transporter. And something that can handle the length and weight of a 110 Defender and has a...

Mog's collection of interesting Defender's currently on Autotrader

Not bad for £300-350!! The amount of old series landy's and early Defenders stuck in barns and on farmyards around here is ridiculous. I have my eye on two in particular at the minute, one is a Series 2a HT, and the other a Series 2 LWB Safari HT. I am quietly confident that the farmers would...

8 year old daughter just put my hat on straight about colour!

I concur with your daughter, the blue does look good. HOWEVER, I would be very tempted with one of the following vintage style options: Keep the roof white/cream, spray your alloys vintage cream, paint the Defender in vintage Marine blue. Keep the roof white/cream, spray your alloys either...

Not necessarily a bad thing, I would have a whole fleet of Series and Defender's if I could afford it :D

Mog's collection of interesting Defender's currently on Autotrader

From time to time I check autotrader to see what's currently available with regards to Landy's, I occasionally I come across interesting ones, today I came across three! So i'm going to share them with you :) ----- First we have a Camel Trophy support Defender from the Tierra Del Fuego '98...

8 year old daughter just put my hat on straight about colour!

    | And this is where you tell us that she's actually 17 years old :P As for the Defender, take a picture I want to see it, then I shall decide on a colour for you, or determine whether your daughters statement was accurate ;)

    Hi from the Netherlands

Nothing wrong with the 2a at all! I have my eye on one that has been abandoned up here, they look great, run great and hold their value really well when looked after!

Best tyres for an old Ninety??

I'm the same as you, I like the narrower tyres for both look and ride. But I actually have the BFG A/T's on mine at the minute: as you say keep in control and go slow, try not to spin wheels or break traction if possible, can get through anything within reason, and never plough through a...

Best tyres for an old Ninety??

Very true, usually better with narrower tyres when it comes to the snow and ice here in the UK, that way they can cut through to the ground below, but if you're in super-soft, super deep snow which you see in some areas of the world, better to have a big ass tyre with one massive footprint to...

Picked up my 110 hardtop !!

+1 to this - Regardless of when it was done, unless it was done JUST before you got it. Don't take the risk, for the relatively small cost get the belt changed, it's easy as pie on a 300tdi apparently. And as Al2O3 said, don't leave them the full age before replacing, they have been known to...
