    Do these axles look narrow?

The rear axle is series 2 2a or 3 if there is no filler plug in the diff housing itself. If front is same whith then it is as well. Likely skinny wheels that make it look narrow. Pretty sure 109 series one were/are on the same axles as the series 2. The only real change was the body shape with...

Help ending my leak - 200TDI

It will not be main seal and doubt it will be T seals. Likely it is the block to flywheel housing gasket [ did you renew this when you did main seal?] or oil coming down from the top. 200tdi rocker gasket can be a bit rubbish and or the half moon rubber blocks each end of rocker, in this case...

    Defender 90 advice

What you need is someone with you who knows Defenders well. Checking out the Chassis and bulkhead is not just a look and see job, a lot can be learned from tapping and listening just like an MOT person would/should do. Check MOT history and if the same corrosion issue comes up year on year...

    Truck cab fitting help

Can confirm the panel in pic is for fitment to SWB. Do you have the special bolts [ nut both ends and welded washer in the middle ] for fixing down? They are quite thin to allow movement of cab to the right position.

Early 90 heavy steering, different tyres?

I also found 7.50 Firestone SAT were lighter but then with their tread pattern there was not a lot of rubber in contact with the road.:D

    Spiggot bearing question

Did he say "forgotten by previous owner" or was that just a guess. More likely the clutch release bearing I recon.

    Trouble bleeding clutch SIIa

Lots of poor quality parts about these day's and trading standards do not seem to give a dam even with safety related items. Thermostat packed in on mine back in Spring, took three goes to find one that works. Not even sure how good it is either. :mad:Nuts.

    Trouble bleeding clutch SIIa

It is the same thing, Mole is just the original maker, a bit like hoover for a vacuum cleaner. Does the pedal still go down all the way now? even slowly. Oh, just read your first return post. No air, likely fluid passing back to reservoir due to internal fault.

    Trouble bleeding clutch SIIa

No, nothing to do with slave. If pedal still goes down with flexi pinched off it has to be a master issue. [ there is a tool to do this but careful use of a mole grip works.

    Spiggot bearing question

With out the spigot bearing [ which is just a plain bush] in place the input shaft to box and clutch plate would tend to move about some, this would be when clutch is in. Result is likely the gearbox input shaft bearing wearing over time making noise or plate itself getting loose on the shaft I...

    Trouble bleeding clutch SIIa

If you pinch of the flexi and pedal still goes down you can eliminate trapped air in rest of system.

    Trouble bleeding clutch SIIa

Series 2/2a slaves are vertical @Lee T . Does sound like you have a duff replacement master and is allowing fluid to return to the reservoir when it should not. That is if it is not leaking out somewhere.

My usual way is open nipple and wait for gravity to do its stuff. Have you got the master rod free play right?

    Zenith 36 IV

Been a while since I done stuff with carbs but recon having used 36iv's and looking at diagram it is number 27 compensating jet that is missing. Main issues I found with the 36iv were worn throttle spindle holes in case, the diaphragm, incorrect float level.

    Machine Mart Jacks

I have carried and used the 2 ton one for many years. Fits behind the center seat along with a thick square of plywood to sit it on. Welded a U curved strip of steel on top of the screw out section. Would be rather dodgy without I recon.
