^^ I'd spotted that ad too. Think the price might be the issue.

P38A How to disassemble wing mirror to spray paint

Housing & bracket only show as complete assembly on Lrcat. I've painted a lot of wing mirrors on a lot of cars (professionally) & I've just masked up as required. Don't forget to remove the tape carefully from the non-painted bits after the last coat before it dries.

    Ride height

Nothing in the owner's handbook? You didn't ask the seller to show you how it works? If you're going to ask questions in order to stand the best chance of getting an answer you need to at least: 1. Give model, engine type, transmission & year at the start of a new thread. You know what you've...

    Aftermarket TPS

If you do then as already said by datatek the swing of the readings must be smooooth without any sticking or sudden jumps.

    Aftermarket TPS

Very likely a faulty TPS. Try a 'wiggle test' of all of its the wiring you can get at & see if anything happens. Plenty on ebay etc for various prices. Can't say I'm a fan of cheap aftermarket stuff though. You could raise the issue with the suppliers of your TPS but many won't accept returns of...

Quite a few bottle jack stripdowns on youtube, worth a look if you want to try it with yours.

    Factory Coram Bottle Jack Issues

Probably. This?: www.roverparts.com/tools/jacks/KAJ100571/ Looks much like a normal bottle jack with a 'U' piece welded on top of the ram. You could probably cut the top of yours & weld it onto a new one - for a lot less than LR want, even for a Britpart one! Or just buy a small trolley jack...

Classic Hotwire V8 Runs Rough at Idle

I think the silicone RTV ones that release acetic acid fumes as they cure should be avoided upstream of Lambdas. Never used RTV on exhausts, just firegum or trade equivalent - the name of which escapes me but comes in one of the cartridges that requires a gun, same as household sealant stuff -...

Classic Hotwire V8 Runs Rough at Idle

I'd suggest dealing with the exhaust manifold leak before you do anything else. Need to eliminate known faults before doing anything else. If you're using the individual gaskets - one per port - then they do have a right way round. For your problem port try Firegum. I have s/s sports manifolds...

    P38A Head gasket advice needed

I can't remember the brand but one of the things that people put into the coolant system to block up leaks has exactly what you describes as 'glitter/sparkles' in it. I think it's to help it block up any holes. Some just put it in as a 'just in case' even if they don't have coolant loss. Not a...

    P38A Head gasket advice needed

Good quality ones! FWIW I learnt a long time ago the hard way that cheapies - or even good quality non-genuine - are best avoided & usually use ones sourced from a franchised dealer. That said, when I did the hgs on my 3.5 Classic I used Elrings which were recommended & have been fine. I also...

looking for who modified my Defender

The ad says: "Camper converted by the previous owner. The chassis cab is ex utility so well serviced. The Ambulance back was added and modified by the previous owner" So could even be an amateur DIY. Assuming you're not the seller, your first line of questioning should be the seller.

    What's missing ????

If the current garage still won't co-operate & there is nothing actually wrong that would justify the fail then you've really got two choices: 1. Appeal the result www.gov.uk/government/publications/complain-about-an-mot 2. Try another MOT station.

Swapping out the old Marelli alternator for a nice new one..

They do. Both types of connections - post or plug - are available. Mine - 1986 EFi - has the same post terminals as yours did. Ordered that type when I needed to replace it two years ago. On holiday at the time so not got the tools to refurb the old one. My old one was a Magneti Marelli.
