I put the difflock synthetic oil in the gearbox in my 300Tdi and it made a big difference to the notchy first to second gear change.

It would be interesting to see how stainless bulkheads last in terms of strength and any corrosion where it meets other metals. I’d be going for galvanised but am open to stainless if it lasts without issues.

A good starting point would be to get hold of any magazine articles referring to the conversion and see if there are any groups on social media who can advise or know of someone with one who will let you take a look at it. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

There have been several write-ups in the Landy magazines over the years about these. They are quite rare. I recall seeing one or two with mid to late 80’s registration numbers.

Used it to collect an eBay purchase of a set of wolf rims with decent Cooper STT tyres from Cheltenham. Five of those weigh a bit! The 90 passed 111k miles on the journey. Now to get the wheels swapped over and decide what to do with my current rims.

The rain held off for most of the day. I only bought a bag of tools for a fiver, much to Mrs K’s relief. Her passing comment as I left was not to buy too much junk… There were more non-Landy stalls selling tat and the like and fewer buyers in my opinion. But still a good day out.

The weather guess says showers all day for Newbury tomorrow… 🙄
