Second that David Bowyer is a great guy, with an excellent product. However I ran a Winchmax 13000 for years, for tree surgery and offroading, not a fast winch but strong, and never had an issue.

BF Goodrich Km2 in 235x85 will fit, better tyre imo. also extremely tough. But I do love the xzls on a classic looking defender or series. Very traditional.

interesting one, I had an ARB winch bumper for years on my old defender, this had built in (working) indicators, never got pulled over or picked up on MOT. I have the Halo leds with working indicators, will be interesting to see if this causes an issue on my next MOT.

Also worth trying is Graham Sykes modified insurance.

I used to have a 13000lb Winchmax, I bought it second hand from a mate for 120 quid plus two pints, it got regularly abused in tree work/off roading, never had a problem with it, very reliable. I am also interested in the terra firma winch, as have got a new land rover which doesn't currently...

Didn't Turner's or someone do "Gold Seal" refurbed engines a while back which were painted like this?
