    GKN Driveshafts worth it?

I’ve fitted gkn rather than ****part to my d1 at a way higher cost. I’d much rather gkn than britpart just so hopefully I don’t have to strip it back for a while!

Got a fair way through the offside works. The new cv and driveshaft came fitted together already. There was no spacer on it but it matched the lengths of the old one 🤔 New oil seal on swivel, assembled and fitted new stub and bearing, new timkens (had in stock so thought I may aswell fit)...

Frongoch Range Rover - eBay seller.

Mounts definitely need moving. Was hoping I could crack a deal with Dave on trading in my old zf and getting a recon non edc one with bellhousing to suit. Still got a 300 in the commercial so all the bits I gave in stock won’t go to waste. Might even treat it to some fresh injectors if it plays...

Frongoch Range Rover - eBay seller.

I might’ve imagined it but the summary at the beginning “we are a small company…” was the same between two sellers. Who knows! I kept trying to convince myself to stay 300tdi but the more I restore and the little touches added just makes it seem wrong still to not be petrol. I also don’t even...

Frongoch Range Rover - eBay seller.

No but the descriptions were very similar I think which led me to ask. I enquired with Frongoch and they said they had a few. That being said I’m going to speak to turners in the week and see if they still do them

😂. I think I may attempt to re shod the one you sent. Picking it apart obviously gives the pattern pieces. I just need a skiving knife and some more material. I’m happy with the stuff I got for the cubby box lid so I’ll speak to them and try and crack a deal as wouldnt mind doing my door card...

This shows the difference where I’ve wrapped black leather for cubby box on my other build. Easier to see it’s grey there

That one isn’t the one that arrived today mate. This one was scuffed, then binder, then colour then topcoated with a crosslinker to about 25% gloss. It’s dark grey now to match the dash and to be a bit different!

Got another wheel from @Firebobby1 so thought I’d take a risk with the worn one I’ve got as a lesson prior to restoring one for my main build. It’s not perfect (it almost was 🤦‍♂️) but it won’t disintegrate in my hands like the current nasty one and will go nicely. Just needs some leather balm...

Anyone used? Good feedback but contemplating an expensive purchase and was interested if anyone’s had dealings…

Expensive day…. I stripped the nearside front as play/clink was raised when it was inspected. On removal, swivel was full of oil. Oil full of grease. We already knew that would be the case didn’t we! Plan was to just replace the cv and drive flange as these were assumed to be at fault. Now...

    Fuel gauge reading

I read the title and thought “I know this one, I’ve solved it with the connector behind the glove box. Then I read it was 23 plate and not 300tdi 😂🤦‍♂️

    300TDI Disco1, temp sensor locations

There’s an egr one in head you can use - I read it was m10 fine. My adapter didn’t work. I ended up tapping the thermostat bleed screw and have a sensor there. As above - need to find why it went and also know that the head isn’t cracked or damaged! I’ve fitted oil pressure and water temp to...
