What did you do with your Range Rover today

Looked in to my suspension issue properly. Had replaced the entire compressor unit to no avail so started looking at the wiring. Lo and behold, problem found. 20 minutes with solder, snips, heatshrink etc got it all sorted and working again! Saved me the £500-£780 2 'specialists' wanted to...

I drove it.. To the end of the yard and back and it was fine. Once I pulled out the yard and parked up for 30 minutes.. Then it had a problem. Didn't you read my original post? :p:eek::rolleyes:

Well, this way I at least have a spare and can put a known good one in. I don't even know if the existing one works at all :) And yes, I've heard all about your strap thingies ;)

It's an AMK. I've order one from Bearmach, one of the cheapies, which I'll install to get things running then refurb the AMK that I take out. Once that's done, I'll swap them around and keep the cheapy as a spare.

Yeah, I need to find out which is the correct compressor and order one up.

That's what I'm edging towards - are they interchangeable i.e. AMK or Hitachi?

What did you do with your Range Rover today

You'd think so, right? I've been through 5. 1st didn't turn up and then blanked me. Second didn't turn up. 3rd turned up after 2 weeks of excuses to lay the concrete founds.. Then had loads of excuses (like last minute drive to Newcastle to sell their car.. Instead of being at mine) . 4th was...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

If I wasn't lazy as ****, if it wasn't so cold and if I didn't have a cement mixer in the back garden to building a pile of walls... I'd maybe consider it for a few seconds. Mind you, I could probably fix the compressor myself if I bought one or got a refurb kit. Haven't actually googled the...

P38A What a rubbish fob design.

In my old Monaro, the key had a metal tip on the handle - it made a connection with the barrel when inserted... Which then charged the battery. Never understood why other manufacturers didn't do the same as it makes so much sense!

Yep and we've come to an agreement we're both happy with, too. Can't fault the chap at all and I'd be happy to buy further cars from him.

Is this worth it or to dodgy

From dtuk? I'd avoid if I'm honest, especially on an older car. I used them on my Astra H back in the day when they first started developing them. I briefly had the most powerful H in the country. ... 10k miles down the road it shat the gearbox beyond repair.

Nothing on the MOT however the specialist has quoted for them to be entirely replaced. Total bill is £1358 for everything including labour.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Nah, using a specialist. Just waiting on their quote for the other bits too; suspension compressor, exhaust mount and the infamous p040d

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Basically all the brake pipes from the middle to rear are shot. OSF shield is badly corroded and is rubbing on the disc, which explains the noise and squeeking I've been getting.
