    Is it EP90

I've got the same star shape on my tyres either side so probs both ends. I'll do what slomofo says cos I've washed the wheels yesterday, done 40 miles today and there's not much of a tyre star now, making me think the oil's ran out.

    Is it EP90

Well it's a plug with a half inch square inset which a half inch drive will fit in.

    Is it EP90

So I've just seen the nut on the axle facing the back of the car. Should I take it off and.put some EP90 in it until the hub seal is looked at next week?

    New member intro

Ask me anything. Me and James are the best experts on here. What I don't know about mechanics isn't worth knowing :):D:p

I would just like to say

I drove in the third lane on the way home. Slow lorry first lane and slow but a bit faster lorry overtaking in the second.

Axle rose (well axle star anyway).

I started a new job 2 weeks ago and 30 motorway miles round trip x 5 days. It's only happened this week sometime. Do you reckon it's an ASAP job as Kev says above (as in tomorrow) or will it wait til next Saturday d'ya reckon?

Axle rose (well axle star anyway).

Cheers for that James. I'll go into a garage with ramp lifts and tell them exactly what you've wrote. I think it might be an early one as the first garage I took it to who ripped me said something about a place where oil is put in the axle. Originally a 2.5 1992.

Axle rose (well axle star anyway).

Yeah I've deleted my bloody pics today, but when my discs and shoes were done, someone said something about a seal being at the other side of the hub of the axle, but the chap doing it said there wasn't a seal behind the hub and plate that the discs go on. I'll have to take it somewhere to be...

It's nearly as bad on the other side. Better had. Cheers.

Axle rose (well axle star anyway).

I had new seals put on when my brakes were done in November. Looks like the seals need doing again. I've heard that when the axle gets rough, the hub seals go quick. A chap I know has suggested I use gasket goo. Anyway. I'm wondering if I should just put a drum brake axle on? I don't want to, as...

Mackers' Def 90 - Who needs Cloud Storage when you can have your own thread?

Still got the cages to sort. Just had a response from a chap on Ebay. Sending dimensions for a quote at weekend. Hopefully we can configure for three collies, then that sounds like a plan (ply covered leatherette) or wallpapered then varnished paper on ply...

Mackers' Def 90 - Who needs Cloud Storage when you can have your own thread?

Yeah. Still considering options. Might be plywood or carpet. It's only my preference, but I don't like the look or price of moulded.plastic trims.

Mackers' Def 90 - Who needs Cloud Storage when you can have your own thread?

I got a bargain on Ebay, but this here woof woof truly is the dog's bollocks. OMG the sound from it. Hangs perfectly behind the middle and passenger seat on the bulkhead...

Mackers' Def 90 - Who needs Cloud Storage when you can have your own thread?

It's just a nut on a plate rivetted to underneath. Just used nuts where I could get my hand behind whilst screwing the bolt in (battery box) but 2 man job for the other side of each seat and middle seat as I'll hold nut under car whilst the other screws the bolts down.

Mackers' Def 90 - Who needs Cloud Storage when you can have your own thread?

Seat box. They're the nuts underneath that are rivetted so they don't spin when you bolt the seat rails down :0(

OMG what a s$it afternoon I've had. If anyone knows what these are, I threaded most of em scraping butyl silent coat bits out.

Note to all: Def seat covers aren't tweed wool, even if they look and feel like it. Took em all off to machine dye em. Synthetic so no take up of dye :rolleyes::rolleyes:

    The old chestnut: water ingress.

So far, most of the water must've been coming through this gap between my gear box tunnel and the seat box. I've sika flexed it up, but I thought at first that my tunnel had rotted away from the box, but it's still a bit strange to me? Then I was sat in the car and it was sunny. I can see the...

Mackers' Def 90 - Who needs Cloud Storage when you can have your own thread?

In the end, though I'm not a boy racer who likes to have his window down (elbow out) getting goose-pimples as he imagines everyone stationary at the lights is thinking he's amazingly cool (boom boom), I couldn't cope with just mid top sound coming out of my speakers, so I've bought this. It'll...
