What sender was it? Ive been after a genuine one for mine but could never find one.

How can you tell if a second hand hood is genuine LR?

What are your experiences? I seem to be having to replace mine every 3 years or so.

Earth the wires going into the sender, watch to see what the gauge does.

Any ideas? I need to get it supported for a rebuild.

v8's were not that great, 2.5's are pretty bomb proof.

Whats it for? If it has the brackets down between seatbox and door throw them away and buy the belts with the belt fixing point on the inertia reel bracket.

Put a 12v feed to the fan and see if it spins, at that age Id be dismantling the box and fitting new foam.

Good stuff, did you tighten up the contacts? That should be working better than a new one now!

Why would you want to heat that up? All thats going to do is burn the paint off.

Wheel off, hammer and a block of wood will get most of it out.

Did you order the correct sender?

Connect it to earth, see if the gauge rises.
