The new dash is pretty solid, it will need a bit of work to look decent but no rot. I am worried about noise, removing the vinyl could contribute to cabin noise. As for heat I dont know if it is a good thing or bad thing, does the vinyl act like a insulator or will the plenum act like a radiator...
