What did you do with your Range Rover today

Rear hub bushes arnt bad, get a push pull tool, one with the tubes etc and selection of threaded bar, I borrowed one from mechanic and did both over a weekend, both sides upper and lower, could have cracked on and done all in 1 day. With that tool there really not hard.

Can’t say iv noticed, may give that a try, definitely behaves differently to the gm5 speed in the td6s, same zf6 as in my old x5 but does have different programming as it drives different. Mechanic who’s just done my tyres said how nice them engines sound even just Sat idling. Spoke to him...

Agree about its gears, when cruising and floor it kick down couple of gears and off it goes, although mine has a bad wobble about 80mph, rear lower arm on nearside front has a split bush stuck wheel wobbles about a bit, going to get a set of arms for about £150 and refresh all front end.

Hose under the V seems common leak point weep point especially warm climates, silly idea using rubber in hottest part of engine. Normally would chance it but can’t risk a leak there say on motorway with family in car, no RAC man would be able to bodge that to get it moving again.

The one on this 4.2sc looks to be a metal housing and traditional thermostat, oddly when you buy even a genuine stat it arrives in bits, IKEA version of a traditional stat, every one iv had has always been pre built. No idea about solenoids but it behaves like every dodgy stat iv ever had...

Lovely machine. Must admit my 4.2 definitely thirsty but amazing cruiser. Got mine booked in for new thermostat as it over cools and new rubber hose that runs in the V below supercharger. Not leaking but can garantee it would when on motorway or something with family in car, don’t fancy being at...

Don’t know about sticky, but when I had a Volvo V70 2.0d (Ford engine) exhaust always had some black residue, even with dpf (145,000 miles) and was always wet, not sticky as such but sort of soot and condensation, always run fine though, take it for a blast, get everything hot see how it goes after.

    L322 8 speed box problem

Is there any decent auto transmission place near you? The one I use are very good just to phone up and speak to, and will allow time for you to drive up let them have a test drive in it and tell you what they think is wrong, without charge. Sometimes worth phoning a place like that see their...

Flat bar with couple of small machine screws set at the correct space has done it for my before when I lost my disc spanner. Just do them hand tight now, never come loose yet.

Range Rover Sport 2016 hi-low box

Will also say my 4.2sc doesn’t seem to have that issue, different engine and box.

Range Rover Sport 2016 hi-low box

Have a relative with a tight driveway up a steep incline and just reversing up in the td6 was like that, tiny bit of power and nothing then bit more and it was 100mph up the drive, fine forwards just reverse. Got used to it but low does give much more control.

    Dreaded MOT day!

Not bad then. Don’t know about subframe bushes but cv gaiters aren’t too bad as long as you get stretchy ones, no need to split the joints then.

Front wheel drive only freelander 2

Also just to add they did make a rare model that was just 2wd but if I’m not mistaken it came out much later than 07, easy way to tell is Jack the back up and spin the rear prop, if it’s still working it won’t move (gearbox in 1st- front wheels on ground- handbrake off) if splines have gone rear...

Front wheel drive only freelander 2

Had this on my freelander 2 few years go. Both manual and autos suffer from gearbox spline wear, there’s a splined coupling in the power transfer unit (gearbox/transfer box in one unit kind of idea) the splines couple the rear prop, they wear and strip, no noises and won’t affect the way it...

    L322 Key programming

Quick update on the key situation, no matter how quick I try I can’t seem to get the other key to program, did get a new key shell and swapped chip and local key place cut the key, was talking to farther in law and he knows a guy who does for the AA and deals with keys & immobiliser issues so...
