Disco 2 Warning lights after changing brakes

I had this with mine. The fault showed front left as the issue on the Nanocom but live data showed rear right having a voltage issue. I disconnected the sensors in turn to check, it was indeed the front left which was the problem, so the fault code was right and live data was wrong.

Disco 2 Help with oil coolant hose

I'm fairly sure the EGR has to be removed completely to cap it. @volquete It's an arse to get off and cutting is easiest but a new one can be put back with a lot of wiggling and squishing. It WILL go back on.

    Thoughts and advice on Spanners

Well... no... I used the 'breaker bar on the chassis and turn the engine over' method. But I tightened it up with a fan spanner/scaff bar/breaker/ 2 of us pulling like the hulk on each side, in the absence of a torque wrench. When we did get hold of one later, it was at about 440NM...

Is it much different to a Td5? Edit- you do need a scaff bar over the spanner...

    Strange T/C issue - 04 110 XS

Did you change the hub(s) or just the sensors?

Poof! :p A cranked fan spanner hooked on one of the pulley bolts and levered over the socket works as well ;)

    Discovery TD5 Turbo

Did your mechanic find anything else interesting in there? You had a diesel runaway - it was burning it's own oil as fuel. They usually stop when they run out of 'fuel' and/or destroy themselves. You can stop them, either stamp on the brakes and stall it in a high gear or block the air intake...

Disco 2 Britpart Hub & CV Joint

I gave them a go as well... hub itself was fine, the sensor was shíte. I'd cut the old one out and the new one threw up a fault immediately. I spliced the old one back together and put it back on. It worked and got it through the MOT. That was in March, the 3 amigos returned today...

    Td5 viscous fan spanners

I found with both my D2's, a good smack or two with a hammer on the fan spanner is enough to crack the nut.

Dead disco 2.....every now and again

Check the little spade connector on the bottom of the starter motor. If it's loose or dirty, it won't even turn over. Unless you have no dash lights at all, - then it could be loose ignition connection.

Disco 2 Oil leak from top/back side of engine

Very likely. Mine leaked over everything and made a mess. New gasket fitted in January, a week later, the head gasket went... so obviously it was done again, no more oil leak. However... I've noticed it's weeping slightly again... o_O
