Sorted it. The fecking instructions told me to wire it up the wrong way around! Really helpful supplier though I must say, very attentive with advice. Anyway now I can put the boost ring in and report the findings.

I got one from Screwfix for 30 quid. Good reviews mostly saying go very slowly and use oil and it works well!

Supplier suggests a volt meter at the gauge end of the thermo to see what it's reading. Trouble is I don't have a volt meter. I do now have a brand new tap and die set though!!!

Came as a package. It's either poor connections of its busted. I tried heating it with a blow torch bit still no reading . To make matters worse I snapped a bolt off in the manifold removing it!!!!

Any ideas on thermocouplers? I've fitted an egt gauge but it won't give any readings. All wired as per instructions just wondering how far in the probe needs to be?

Yep I had to drill mine out. I bought a 25 quid bit for the job and it managed it too with not too much trouble.

Was it that stuck in there? In that case you can tap a hole in the manifold as close to the engine as you can and get a weld bund to attach the thermocouple to.
