I took my door off and did all three hinges at once, then put back on. I had an issue with one with the ball being rusted in. Ended up taking grinder to it which loosened it enough.

How did you feed the wiring loom through the chassis (or did you run it along the top?). I'm hopefully getting my axles on this week coming, so would be good to get the loom through before I get much further

Take a look on ebay. There's two guys who sell them new for just over £100. Depending where abouts you are, there's one guy in Birmingham and another in north yorkshire somewhere. I haven't bought one yet, but plan to as my screen needs replacing anyway.....

I decided to wait until my rebuild to fit.....rebuild has been ongoing for a month or so now, so should shortly have the opportunity to fit and then report back. I can't believe it's been 18 months!

Remember that this bracket is going into the wheel arch. So any fluid pipes or air filters wouldn't be there, as they're in the engine bay!

The handbrake drum attaches to transfer box, so that'd be somewhere to check. Curious that oil made it stick.....oil should make it unstick ;)

Mines completely apart now so can't help on the gap, however remember you've got the seal to go in. I know before I took mine apart I could see the seal when the door was closed. Not sure if it's supposed to be that way....

I was told on a previous mot to do that to good pipes that were starting to corode, however if its already failed then putting grease on isn't going to revert the corrosion. We're not talking big money so if there's ever any doubt, get them replaced. Remember just one crack or corroded hole...

I'd be interested in knowing this too. i've got an order set up ready to with sp4x4, I've chose the later heavy duty hinges, but if there's something up with them it'd be good to know before I click buy :)

Note if it's rear door that you need a series piece if it's prior to td5 - defender door pieces are for td5 and later rear doors
