    To be honest I don't know exactly or how to check it. When the problem started the revs at idle were the same they have been for the past 9 years without a problem. I upped the revs a fair bit when testing, knocked them back a bit and the problem is back again. Won't hurt to have them refurbed...

    After setting the idle to a sensible speed it's gone back to the same problem. The next cheapest option is injectors so have taken them out and sending them away. If no difference then the injector pump will be getting sent off.

    I use Mahle filters without a problem but then how would you ever know? Just about everything is made in China, isn't it? For the price change both, pointless not changing both filters I would have thought. Edit: Buy genuine as its made in the UK, the sticker on the box is anyway. Amazing!

    The earth goes from battery to gearbox/transfer box, it branches of to the chassis rail near the gearbox. If you have no earth to chassis then that could be your problem.     Rewire 3rd brake light

    Get a test light and see which wire comes on with the brake light, extend it up to the bulb holder and earth the other side. Otherwise you could probably find a loom connector near the lower brake lights and follow the wire. Connectors look a bit green.

    Took it for a test drive and seems to be ok, which is a bit strange. Although the idle is a tad high, going to put a few miles on it then drop the idle down a tad and see what happens.
