    I don't think clutches are particularly cheap on most modern cars are they? Although saying that I paid to have a clutch on my Focus earlier in the year and it was just over £500. If I need a clutch done on my TD5 I will just have to cry as I don't really have anywhere to do it.

    I just Googled your question and it said it can make the exhaust smell differently to normal. I think that is with older fuel and fuel with water in it.

    Ours didn't when I replaced the core plug on the head, below the rocker shaft. Changed the head gasket before realising the core plug was weaping, didn't even know it had core plugs there. Live and learn

    I find it strange they use coolant as a matter of course. I have never had to top up coolant on any car we have owned except the Series 2a.
