Just got the car in October and have spent over 1200 on it so far including this bill. Had to get the EGR valve repaced and also got it serviced at the same time. Kinda sickened by it all and thinking about cutting my losses and selling it, but I do love it and its as smart as..... mmmm what to do.

Hi guys, Im wanting to get a Haynes manual for my defender, looked online and the one that keeps cropping up is the 1983-2007 up to 56 registration diesel, now as mine is an 07 reg would this be the right one for me to get?

Got word back from the garage today, they said it was the offside half shaft and offside drive flange. Costing around £650 including parts and labour, needless to say im spewing.

Ye it drove with the handbrake on much to the AA guys bewilderment.

Yip, no issues with that, goes into gear no problem.

Thanks for the reply mate, did all that with diff lock and that it still didnt move. Couldnt do anything with the car really as was on a busy road, just put it in a garage close to where it broke down. Dont want it to be a massive repair bill, its in a garage now.
