Thanks. Should i not be so fickle and just fit the shorter weber choke through the bulkhead or is it possible to get a longer cable to fit to the original choke control near the ignition?

Is it possible to fit the old choke cable to a new weber carb or do I need to fit the new choke button and cable that comes with the weber carb in a new location ie through the bulkhead somewhere? Thanks

I don't know if the spots run through a relay. They were fitted when I bought it. How do I check the earth? From where should I try and re earth? As much detail as possible would be great. Thanks.

Right. It is not the switch that is faulty. I tried the headlights today and still they do not work at all on dipped. On main beam though, both headlights came on main beam and then without any touching of switches by me the right one lost main beam and was just on dipped beam. I then pulled...

There are 2 spot lights fitted which come on when main beam is activated with the indicator stalk.

Thanks for the replies. Both main and dipped do not work. If it's a bad earth how do I go about rectifying it? I am no sparky!

I have a series 3. Both my headlights are not working. Bulbs ok. I have checked the fuse and had the dash off to check that the headlight wire has not come loose from the rear of the switch. All seems fine. The sidelights etc all work when I switch them on. I am thinking that perhaps the switch...

Thanks. Is a ratchet drive something that Halfords would stock? I also have one drain plug with "convex" square plug rather than "concave". What would I need to for that?

I am going to do an all round oil change. Does anyone know where I can get the square headed implement to undo the drain plugs and what all the sizes are? As you can probably see, I'm new to this! Thanks
