Power loss at 60/70 AFTER VCU/Drive shaft installed

I think I'd have to hit something large and heavy to put me through the windscreen ! I'm lucky to drive my Audi , discs on the rear etc, think as usual they were trying to save money by using drums on the rear. The steering on phoebe is like my old yank. Can drive with one finger and turn lock...

Power loss at 60/70 AFTER VCU/Drive shaft installed

I'll have to look underneath, it's going in soon as mechanic ? Wants to check what engine mount has gone. I'm sure when I looked there's nothing left of 4 wd system but maybe can take a photo and post it later. And to be fair the brake discs look well scored to me, it passed the rolling road...

Power loss at 60/70 AFTER VCU/Drive shaft installed

Cheers, as said going in for service soon so will ask them to check basic safety items, although doubt it would have passed test if really bad. 100 kph is speed limit here ( 62 mph ? ) never dared to go faster as shakes n rattles so much. PAS is really light, with no real feel, new front tyres...

Power loss at 60/70 AFTER VCU/Drive shaft installed

Hi Nodge, I was just having a joke with Grumpy. I get Phoebe up to 100 kph which sounds impressive but it's only just over 60 mph ! She's definitely not happy over that speed and to be honest there's no need to go faster here. As you know the test here is very basic, it always feels she's not...

    Head lights

Many thanks gents, looks like a pig to replace, they reminded me of plastic protectors I had on my Rover 827 I was hoping they were just put over the glass to change headlight pattern as I'm LHD. As Nodge said will only worry for next years test but am visiting uk soon so could have picked up a...

    Head lights

Hi everyone, as said on phoebes mot an advisory was cloudy headlights, had a quick look and they appear to be some type of plastic but incorporate the indicators. Do they come separately or as I suspect you have to buy complete assembly ? Has anyone tried the polish stuff which supposedly cleans...

    The big day

I did ! But got her a special treat lined up, an oil and filter change, fuel filter change and am getting engine mount changed ! I have to laugh, I see pictures owners on here post showing state of their bushes etc. I've had a crawl underneath phoebe and can't see any rubber left at all ! Would...

    The big day

He's just brought her back - - - - Break out the cigars, she's only gone and passed ! Few very minor advisories, door mirrors broken ( always were ) Number plates too old ( metal non reflective ) And headlights cloudy ( sun damage ) My biggest worry was corrosion which this year has magically...

Freelander 1 Do diesels 'Pink' like petrol engines?

Have you recently bought derv ? Could have some water in it if the garage tank was low or some supermarket fuels are poorer quality. Easiest and cheapest put a few gallons of good quality fuel in like shell V power or BP ultimate. I'm sure the learned one's will have better advice for you later.

    The big day

Hi Gerald and all. Well the big day is here, phoebes off for her ITV ( MOT ) I was chatting to our maintenance man this morning, trying to extract some more information from him on what the process involves. Sounded very complicated especially with the language difficulties so was over the moon...
