Oh that old chestnut, I'd go back and say it wasn't like that when you took it in. If it had other faults they should have pointed them out to you and not wasted your money. Guess you can check the oil, it should be nice and cherry red. Sniff the dipstick, it will smell burnt if the internals...

Hi Julie, it might help the learned one's if you tell them the year, model of your Freelander. I'm afraid the complicated auto boxes are well beyond my limited knowledge.

Many thanks for your input, yes it's got two keys, I've never had all the luxury items on any car so not really bothered if things like dipping mirrors etc don't work. I will only do about 1k a year so not bothered re mpg ( I've had a few yanks ) if the blend motors go can you still blow hot air...

Fantastic little car mines the 225 hp one, done 93k from new, still drives tight and before you all say it not like my Harris ! As you say cheap now but they've started to climb now if good at least 2k but thats cheap for a Porsche scarer .

Yes plenty of room in the Audi, I considered using the gaylander but it kept breaking down so I'd miss my appointments.

The one I'm looking at is a 98 so doubt it has that. Anyway it would sit around for weeks unused so I'd disconnect the battery and attach my solar charger.
